RE: Matilda Clovis headstone
No problem. I enjoyed doing it. This cemetery is only about a mile from my house. When I saw that it was the only picture request for there I thought it would be a good one to get my feet wet with taking pics for other people. It's a very small cemetery and it doesn't look like anyone has been buried there in a while. Her husband's has deteriorated a bit since the pic was taken of it. If need be I can take one when the lighting is a little different to see if I could get the lettering a little better. Let me know if you would like me to do that.

RE: McComas Family
Thank you for your prompt reply. I don't have much info. on DW's family---only what I received from Maxine, census, birth & death records. I do have a lot of data on Lafayette and his parentage/ancestors. The history of this family is very interesting. If you send me your email address, I can send data as attachments. Thanks.

McComas Family
Nina, Thank you so much for all this wonderful information on your McComas line. I may have written to you before, if so, I apologize for the repeat.
My husband is a McComas descendant related to your line. Lafayette, father of D.W., is a brother to my husband's great grandfather, Christopher Columbus McComas. I thank you for all the information and work you have put into the memorials on Findagrave. I especially love the pictures. If you need any information I am so willing to share. I sent much data on this family to Myra Maxine and she may have shared it with you. For the longest time I believed that Lafayette had died without marrying. So when I discovered his marriage to Isabella Jane, I was ecstatic! The McComas ancestors have a wonderful and exciting history.
Thank you again for your dedication and time spent entering all this data.

RE: Brumfields in Pete Meadows Cemetery
You are most welcome. I have quite a few family members in the cemetery as well. Perhaps they knew each other - Walden and Meadows are the last names. :)

Nina,
No, I'm not related to Paul Irving Jones? I've been working on the Farley and Clark families.
Paul's daughter married into the Clark family.
Thanks, Marlene

We know the state laws BUT there are many "No Trespassing" and "Do Not Enter" signs all long the fence around the yard and fields. We didn't feel like getting shot for tombstone pictures.

Lafayette'e gravestone
Nina, Lafayette McComas was a brother to my husband's great grandfather, Christopher Columbus McComas. There are several gravestones in the Bowen Cem. in Wayne Co. of this McComas family. Most of them were moved from Beech Fork when a lake was created. There is one stone (no dates) with the name "LAFE." I believe this may be the gravestone for Lafayette. It is in the McComas section of the cemetery. I don't know why he is buried there and not with his wife, Isabella. I want to thank you for the wonderful pictures of your family. I need to post pictures that I have, also.

Mariposa Wyatt Beirne #111711924
One brother was Samuel Prichard Wyatt and there is the suggestion he was born in Mariposa, California in 1856. Looks like that is how "Posey" got her name even though it was seldom spelled correctly by other people.

Another brother was Wake Hubbel Wyatt, 1860-1927, Memorial #30293583. He is buried in Belton, Cass, Missouri.

Maryposa Wyatt Beirne
Maryposa was born 25 Jun 1858 Kenawha River, WV and D 15 Jun 1893. Death listed in WV records as Posey Burns. Informant was sister Lena Morris (Mary Pauline (Lena) Wyatt - Memorial #50969933 - presently listed as Lena Martin Morris which I believe is incorrect. Her husband was Silas V. Morris.)

The parents of the two Wyatt sisters were Clark Wyatt (1829-1886) and Sarah Anne Childress (1834-1902).

Maryposa Wyatt's husband was Henry Beirne (1858) b. in WV.

Listed in the 1880 census were Henry Beirne(31) Cabin Creek, Kanawha, parents' birth place Ireland, farmer; Mari Posa (21); Sallie (3) and Annie (1).

In 1900 living with Silas V and Maria P Morris were Annie M Berone (21), Katie M Berone (19), Frank M Berone (16), Letha M Berone (14) and Harry M Beirne (11).

Katie M Beirne (Memorial #46715840) married Charles Frank Huddleston.

Thank You!
