RE: Eckerson Caption and Eckerson/Phelps Photos
Loretta, Thank you for the additional information. This will help not only with the Eckerson/Phelps part of the family tree but I have other ancestors buried in Oakwood Cemetery. Some of the other surnames: Burton, Hoard, Perkins and Piper.

RE: Eckerson Caption and Eckerson/Phelps Photos
Loretta, All the work you have done on the family memorials looks wonderful. Thank you so much . As for the burial of Willis, I am going on what has been told to me by family members. It does make sense that he would be buried there as he died at his home in Delavan. It looks to be the last space in the family plot and his youngest daughter is buried in a different section. The fact that there is no headstone or death date on the family monument for Willis could be explained that he was the last Eckerson in the area to take care of these matters. Bertha, the youngest daughter had some "special needs" and lived with her parents, then for a short while with her mother's sister and the rest of her life was spent in a institution. I wish I knew who to contact about the records for Oakwood Cemetery.
I did receive the two emails you sent containing the copies of the pictures. Thank you very much. May I have permission to share these photos with my cousin??

RE: Eckerson/Phelps Oakwood Cemetery
Loretta, Thank you all the work you have done to add the pictures and info to the memorials for the Eckerson/Phelps family in Oakwood Cemetery. I wish I could say 100% that the headstone for Charlie Eckerson is "Little Charlie" but at this time I do not know who else it would be. I believe that the flag should be placed in the blank space where Willis is buried (no headstone) who is a Civil War Veteran as his father David Eckerson Jr.
Thank you to both you and your husband for all the wonderful work taking pictures and connecting families on Find A Grave . Monie

Eckerson/Phelps Oakwood Cemetery
Thank you for contacting me about the other family members buried in Oakwood Cemetery. You have answered one of my questions as to what happened to Charles Eckerson #1469666400. I have always thought that he might have died as the family was moving from New York to Wisconsin however I now know thats to you he is buried with the family.
I have also created memorials for Wheeler Phelps # 147437730, Jonah Phelps # 147437928 and Charles Phelps # 147437827 . If you would be able to attach any photos that you and your husband might have to the Eckerson/Phelps memorials I would appreciate it very much
It would be great if you could email copies of your pictures to put with the family tree I am working on. David Eckerson Sr. is my 3rd great grandfather. My contact address is Thank you again.

Thank you for the photos, how strange the marker appears to have been moved and has a different base. Your photos help tell that story, even if I don't know the details. :) Your effort is much appreciated.

RE: Nellie Wattenbarger
Thank you Loretta. Eddie is my first cousin, Chester's son. Chester is my Dad's only brother. There are 7 Wattenbargers in that cemetery, Raymond Paul and Wife Nellie, My Dad and Mom Raymond Jay and Dorothy, Chester Beryl and Nancy and their son Eddie Ray. My Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Uncle, Aunt, Cousin. They had 4 sisters. Are you from Laclede or Brookfield? I graduated from Brookfield, just bought a motorhome and plan to travel around and photograph and do some more hands on genealogy work on my families.

I'm not sure how that works, but I can learn. Do you have to do the transfer? That would be fine with me. Thank you.
