Oh, I have added Mary Barlow to Vivian. Thank you for that. I took all the pictures of the plaques that were in front of the headstone. That is why the large stone is with them. If you think I should remove it, I will. Just let me know!!

Hi, I recently went to this cemetery and took photos for Mr. Martin Still, Sr. This particular cemetery is in an obscure location and is not maintained.

Still Cemetery photos
I noticed that you have had access to the Cemetery where some Stills have been buried that is in Walton Co GA. Can you tell me if you took pictures of Jane Still, Benjamin Still (b1815 d?) J. B. Still (b1852, d1890), Benjamin Still (b1778, d.1846) and Martha Still (b1881, d1922). I have received a request for photographs of the stones. I would love to get access to this cemetery to make picture of all of them.

I was just wondering if you could get me into contact with the person that got access to the cemetery to get those pictures you posted. Thanks. My email is or

Hi June.
Glad that you like them.
When I looked in the book I noticed two entries for Celene Smith. The other one is on page 58 for Bay Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

"Smith, ______ Infant boy & girl of W. J. & Celene Smith (1 date only) 13 Dec 1946."

The marker is next to Grady Hiram Smith and Mildred Mary Smith's headstone.

Central Section, row 4.

I did not have time to check it out, and do not know when I will be going out that way again, but wanted you to know.

Best regards, Bud

RE: Huffman Family
Do you know Ethel Ellington Tallent? Her mother was Ruby Lee Huffman. I have a letter from her in 2000. She lives in Macon, GA She sent me the names of the Huffman children and year dates and thought I talked to her on the phone and got some additional info or had another letter(but I can't find the letter??)I think she told me she was born 1922, so just wondering if you knew her, and how sharp she still is on family matters.
I also have much more on the Keen family if you are interested, and willing to share.

That sounds "Great". We had lunch with 'travelinann' last year when she was here for a reunion.

Well, take care, Best regards to you all, Bud

RE: The Last Supper Quilt
As we talked in front of the quilt I did not understand all that was said, my hearing in crowds is very bad. I do remember she said a name that began with a 'J' and I said "Oh yes", thinking of Joyce and then June and oh my. Anyway, we had a lovely chat about genealogy and quilts.
Regards, Bud

RE: The Last Supper Quilt
Well, then there is another 'Still' genealogist out there from Loganville that lives in NC. You and birdgirl were the only ones I remember. The Supper Quilt by Dr. Locke. His wife's name is Madylyn(sp). If you google "The Supper" quilt you will get loads of hits about it touring and who made it. I forgot how to spell her name. It was fantastic.
Regards, Bud

RE: The Last Supper Quilt
She told me to say that we saw the quilt "The Supper" and that you were her cousin. At least I assumed it was you. Do you live in NC?

The Last Supper Quilt
We saw it and met the couple at a Quilt Show in Summersville, WV. She said to tell you "Hi".

RE: Bean-Still
Ms Still, I am eager to hear what you find out about the James Still situation. Noting that the senior James Jolly Still's wife is Jane Isabella BEAN, I wonder if their son is actually James Bean Still and NOT James Jolly Still II. Surely they did not have two sons named James. Could this be one of those situations where James is known both as James Bean AND James Junior? I do not recall seeing a document that positively identifies this fellow. Is there any indication that James Bean Still is the son of some other parents? We would like to get the facts because my wife is doubly descended from this family, both through the elder James Jolly's sister Mary and also his sister Sarah.

Bird/Byrd of Newton/Walton Co
Hi June, I am 6th generation of Thomas and Eveline Bird, who are buried in the Byrd Cemetery, Newton Co., GA. Some of my other Bird/Byrd relatives are buried at Gum Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newton Co; Bay Creek, Walton Co.; New Hope UMC, Walton Co., and others at Warsaw Cemetery, Fulton (Old Milton C0). They are on my dad's side of the family. My mother's great grandfather was Jonathan Still; it's his wife Georgia Ann Moore Still that I am looking for.

Georgia Ann Moore Still
Hi June, I am looking for Georgia Ann Moore Still, married Jonathan Still, Walton Co., GA 1872. They are my great grandparents; he is buried at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church and I can't find her anywhere. Just wondering if you had run across her grave in any of your research. I did create a memorial for her (at Shiloh) as she may be buried in an unmarked grave. Thanks for any information. Joyce
