Been researching William M Dufur, 3rd ggpa of my husband William Craig Jensen. I'm finding your name all over, so you've been working hard! Anyway, I'm a little confused on William M Dufur's children. The names you listed are on the 1850 census, but I'm wondering why there is a 9 yr break between children Mary and William R Dufur. Any ideas? Also is family records there is a William Henry Dufur born 1839, after Mary. He's floating around Menard at the same time, but I can't find a definitive relationship to William M. Do you know anything about this William Henry Dufur?
Lastly, I'm also confused about the mg you have listed for William M Dufur to Mary Smith in 1856 in Texas. All the records I have between 1850 and 1865 are in Menard, Illinois. I have a mg certificate for a William Dufer marrying Mrs Clarisa Kitchen in 1857 in Menard, IL, then in 1860, this couple are still in Menard and that William was born in 1807 in NY. Could he have md Mary Ann Smith in TX, the yr before he md Clarissa in Menard, IL? What's your opinion?
Thanks, Illona Jensen

Have not been able to locate a headstone. Doesn't mean there isn't one, just may not be looking in the right place.

I appreciate your concern for accuracy. I photographed the entire cemetery, and it took hours. I created a memorial for every one that didn't have one, which was most of them, and it took hours. I really don't have time to research the validity of every correction. The person who submitted the original correction was ID 46137267 Bruce Glenn. ID could be 71528971. One of them I had written down, I believe was yours. If this person you want the correction on is a relative I would be happy to transfer. THANK YOU.

Karla you are correct in that the cemetery is being denied access. There are several others in the area the same. I believe we need legislation to create a law that says the public WILL be allowed access any and all cemeteries in Texas, or the US for that matter, regardless of where they are located on private or government lands. Access to all cemeteries should be a right of the public even if they are located on private land. Good luck and God bless you.

|Ted Endicott Jr||RE: Erroneous photos, posted the wrong cemetery.|
Karla you are correct. I did post the wrong Smith Cemetery photos for Smith cemetery in Burnet county. I have corrected the photos pending the deletion of the cemetery gate photo by Find a Grave.
Thank you for your studious find and polite recommendation for correction. In the mean time please go the Smith cemetery and get a picture of the correct gate and post it to Find a Grave. This way you can insure the error is corrected. And please be the one who claims all future request for photos within the Smith Family Cemetery off FM 963 in Okalla. This will prevent any further errors for that cemetery.

Karla, thanks for catching my duplicate. I always appreciate when someone calls my attention to a goof-up on my part. I do strive for perfection but it just doesn't happen. Your words were very kind.

|Tinkerbell||Yorks and Callicotte|
I posted the pictures of the Callicotte's.
I also wanted to tell you that in the same section their is another York headstone, her name is Kathryn Lucy (maiden name) York. She was married to James "Glenn" York he was born 1921 and died 2001. He is not buried with her, she died young and it looks like he married two more times. He is buried at Forest Park, Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas. He has two memorials #6470476 and #21015161. Don't know if this is a relation or not....good luck

I believe that your great grandmother is buried at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas and not the Old Pearland Cemetery also known as Old Settlers Cemetery. I will try to go to the cemetery office today at South Park Cemetery and verify and take a picture.

When the weather is right, I will return, and try some foil or flash lite trick. Just to let you know, the Harold Boone and rest of the Boone family. Harolds Grandfather was a brother to the one and only Daniel Boone. Just some tidbit info for you. But I will try some other trick later as weather perimts and get back to you.

|Shannon||RE: Questions (Tabitha Posey Dennis)|
Haha I hadn't caught that. After I sent that message I thought to myself of course it would be Georgia! I'm not familiar with that part of the country and I've been sick for days -so forgive me I'm in a cold medicine haze. :/
It seems like every state has a lincoln county, perry county or randolph county.
Added by Shannon on Oct 23, 2012 4:30 PM
I meant Georgia. sorry.
they were married in Georgia?
Added by Shannon on Oct 23, 2012 11:55 AM
I have a couple of questions about the info provided on the memorial of Tabitha Posey.
It says she and Jesse were married in Lincoln County and soon moved to AL. I'm not sure where Lincoln County is. What state are you referring to? -or is it still AL?
Also, I was wondering if you could tell me what it means to have a non cemetery burial. She was buried?- but not at the cemetery? -maybe at the home? Surely they didn't practice cremation. That question may seem silly, but honestly I don't know.
Where did you get your information? I'm a decendant of Adline Dennis and I think this is her line.
Thank you for posting this memorial, and the information.

I'm sorry about the mistake that I made with the photo of Jessie Dennis Wells' grave marker. I have requested this photo be removed and I also added another memorial for Jessie Dennis Wells with the photo.
I don't know how long it takes the admin to remove the photo from the wrong memorial, but it has been requested. Sorry it took so long. I did miss your first request.

You are welcome. Sorry we could not help more. You might try other cemeteries in the area: Belew Cemetery which is a larger cemetery and very old, or the Catholic Cemetery if he was catholic.
