Thank you very much for the excellent photograph of the grave marker of Bryant Shelly Averett and Carrie Samantha Averett (nee Byrd) at Mount Liberty Cemetery in Level Plains, Alabama. Flowers can make the photograph pretty but when they block the inscriptions they remove the proof that I'm looking for. I really appreciate the high resolution photo.

Ellen Frances Hayden Ingalls? If so, I have her on my tree. There should be some way of checking. Her death cert?
I have several suicides in my tree. One was re-opened as a 'cold case' murder. The other was just documented on the death cert. BUT, it was also, per my reading, a murder.
So, I guess we're cousins of some degree?
If I can be of help. please let me know,

Thank you for your help. I called the funeral home and the one I needed was Oak Hill. The funeral director gave the wrong name.

I really appreciate the photos of my grandparents' stones. They passed early in my life. It's great to be able to learn something about them.

|Norton||RE: Oakwood in Okmulgee|
Sad news indeed. No, I took the photos nearly a decade ago, on a pretty autumn morning with fall colors (as evidenced by the big leaves near some of the photos) and I was enchanted with this cemetery. Started researching some of the older graves (on ancestry.com) as this area has important Oklahoma history. Then a few months later I returned, drove by the cemetery and saw this young bald beefy guy (the prison look is big here) hurdling through the cemetery on a big mower, running into tombstones (you could hear the metal hitting granite) and plowing along like he was out on the lower forty. He had a city employee uniform on. So yes, I'm glad I caught photos of what few tombstones were already standing. After your news, I don't want to see the cemetery's condition now. Okmulgee is a racist pit hole of a place, and law enforcement is akin to Fergueson's. I'll return when it joins the 21st century. Thanks for the heads up. I hope the rest of your visit to Okie-Homa was pleasant.

Thanks for the photo of her marker, now we await the correction of her DOB. I tried to send a "suggestion" but appears someone has done so already, perhaps you did so. Thanks again.
