Are you his family? I see you have many photo requests.

Claude & Dorothy Sherman
I was told at the cemetery office that they were both located in Lot 1 of Sequoia Plot, but there is only a marker for Claude. I think they are in the same grave, and her name was not inscribed on the stone, but I think you would have to call the cemetery to confirm that.

Regards,
B.J.

I will be happy to get your photo at Fairmount-Willow Hills Cemetery if you can contact the cemetery for her location. There are well over 100 requests pending right now and I'd like to work on getting the oldest ones done. Thanks so much...

New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"

******Please Note******
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you.
Then just review and accept.

Way easier for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s.

You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section or do linking.

CHAD BROWN MEMORIAL
THIS IS NOT A GRAVESTONE BUT A MEMORIAL LOCATED AT NORTH BURIAL GROUND IN PROVIDENCE RI
IT SAYS ON THIS MEMORIAL THAT HE DIED ABOUT 1665 not 1650 like you have listed here. birth 1603 not 1600.

Altho he is not my ancestor I have been to this memorial & he is a very important person in the history of RI. I feel that you should change the description to be accurate or remove it completely & let someone else do the correct research

Photo request for Lola Powell
If you call the cemetery and get the burial location I will go out and take the photos that you requested. Due to privacy laws this cemetery will not give out grave locations to non-family members.
You can email me direct at szalko67@msn.com or post the plot number on your memorial pages and I'll keep an eye out for them.

I have nothing more just the fact that they were his children. I have a book that my father wrote many years ago. He grew up close to Ocheltree KS and knew all those old timers.
I'm trying to pass on all the info I have so others can benefit from it.
The other two probably are still living.

RE: Wanda and Draper Downing
We're both having brain farts. You have his place of burial listed at ancestry.

I checked and there is a memorial w/photo for him at Grandview Cemetery. Wanda's name is on the marker but no burial date.

Also, the date of birth (Wanda) on the marker is probably wrong if she was born in November as her brother, Thomas was def. born Feb 26, 1900.

I sent an update message to the creator of Draper's memorial asking him to create the family links.

I don't suppose you have any leads as to the burial location for his son, Draper?

I'm working on Draper's wife's family and she, Wanda Bartley, is the last daughter I can't locate.

Thx,
Dawna

RE: John and Elizabeth Fordyce
FYI - John's father Samuel and mother Elizabeth are also buried at Whiteley Chapel. Unfortunately that cemetery has been neglected for some time and is in poor shape, being rather overgrown with many monuments down or broken.

I know some of my memorials at Whiteley ate duplicates of earlier ones. However, after sending additional info. to the original poster without any results, I added the memorials so that the additional info. I had would be available to others.

Thanks for the heads up on Elizabeth Fordyce. I had the information on my genealogy data base but for some reason, I had not included it on F.A.G.

Again, many thanks.

Brett,

Sorry for the late reply on your request. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis.

You were asking for a transfer of your cousin Fredrick Kirgis' memorial. I completed the transfer for you…

PLEASE CORRECT THE PARENTS OF JOHN WASHINGTON KAIN
Hello Brett,

I believe we must be cousins. Please correct the parents of John Washington Kain on Findagrave. His parents are Thomas Kain and Mary Herbert Kain. They are buried just a few feet away from him in Batavia Union Cemetery. They are NOT John and Elizabeth Raper Kain. You have our John Washington Kain confused with John Wesley Kain who was the son of John and Elizabeth Raper Kain. Both Johns were born in the same year so this is a very common error. If you check the Kain history in the Clermont County History you will see the mistake. John (husband of Elizabeth Raper) is the older brother of Thomas Kain. Both are sons of the Revolutionary patriot James Kain who is buried in Williamsburg Cemetery. I have many documents to prove this and will be glad to share them with you. I am in the process of submitting an SAR supplemental application for James Kain and I don't want any wrong information out there especially on Findagrave. Thanks for your understanding - I orginally made the same mistake when I first started our family tree.

Best,

Jack Bredenfoerder

J.M. Kain, Batavia Union Cemetery
The Clermont County Genealogical Society has done a wonderful job documenting several cemeteries in this area. Please see J.M. Kain's gravestone on their web site:

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohclecgs/cemeteries/bataviaunion/slides/kain_j.m..html

as well as several other Kains. The CCGS photos are copyrighted but this should be a help until someone can get out to the cemetery to take a picture for you/FindAGrave. Your request is still posted on Find A Grave.

Regards,
Zippee
