Edward Jennings, Jr.
Jen, I created a memorial for the photo I took but would be happy to transfer it to you if you are related to the family.

There is a photo on the memorial for Edward and Isabelle's stone on her memorial. This may be the one you were seeking:

Edward Britson
My apologies, Jen. I appear to have added a photo for the incorrect Edward Britson. We took a photo of a stone for Edward Britson at the Roland Cemetery today but his dates were 1929-2008 and he was the son of the person you requested.

I'll get back to Roland and take the correct photo but in the meantime have deleted the one I added.

This has never happened before and I'm very sorry. Lots of Britsons in the Roland Cemetery.

John and Clarissa Noble Coates
Jen-I see you maintain records of the John and Clarissa (Noble) Coates family. I see you have listed several of their children but not Robert James Coates. Would like to share info as my husbane is related thru Robert's wife's side of the family. Robert's wife was Mary Emma Sprague.

Look forward to hearing from you.

RE: Richard & Sophia Bailey, Hardin Co. IA
Thanks for replying - I will be interested in what you find. You may email me directly at

Do you have earlier Bailey ancestry? I think Richard and my line connect in an earlier generation. I would like to compare information. I see that one of Richard and Sophia's daughters married in the Springfield Illinois area, so the family may have been there, also, for a while. Do you know if they had relatives there, too? They sure did get around the globe!

Richard & Sophia Bailey, Hardin Co. IA
Hi Jen-
Are you decended from Richard & Sophia Bailey who you put on findagrave? I became interested in them again when I found Sophia's brother, John Herrington, came from Soham, Canbridgeshire, to Winnebago Co., Illinois, about 1853. His obit there (Feb. 1909) mentions his sister, Mrs. Sophia Bailey, of Iowa Falls, IA, which explains why Richard and Sophia were in Winnebago Co. IL in the 1870 census after they had been to Australia and before they returned to England then later to Iowa. I was looking at Rockford newspapers for people who came from Soham, Cambridgeshire, as my grandmother and her brothers and their mother (who was a Bailey of Soham) came to the U.S. in 1889 and to Winnebago Co. for two years then to a little west of Hardin Co. IA. I always wonder what brought people to a new area - it often is because of hearing about a place where others from their home area moved earlier, so I look for these connections.

If these are your ancestors, I would be interested in hearing from you, especially more detail on where and when Richard and Sophia made their moves.

Eri Terry obituary
Mr. Eri Terry, one of Waverly's most respected citizens, died on Wednesday morning, January 29th, at the advanced age of 86 years. He was born in Otsego Co., New York, and was the son of the Reverend David Terry, one of the pioneer Baptist ministers of Bremer county. In 1844 the family moved to McHenry Co., Ill. In 1850 the deceased was married at that place to Miss Chloe Cornelia Madele. In 1855 he came by ox-team to Bremer county, where his wife died in 1874. In 1893 he settled in Waverly, where he was married to Mrs. Stillman Terry, his brother's widow. He retired that year from the farm. Until 1906, when he met with an accident, he was especially agile and active for a man on his years. He is survived by his widow and his sister, Mrs. M. M. Watkins; also by the following children; Arthur H., Of Nebraska; Mrs. Hart of Marshalltown; Mrs. Estelle Coffin, of Horton; and David O., of Horton. Mr. Terry was one of the most upright men of our city, of excellent character, affable in manner, a true friend, and a kind neighbor.
The funeral services will be held at his late residence on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the Rev. J. Williard Griffith, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating.

Obituary copy in possession of Dorothy Smith, Plainfield, Iowa.
