I believe this may be my 2 great grandmother's father. Her name was Catherine Elizabeth Hodges Schaefer. I think she is listed on the 1870 census as Elizabeth but the birth year is correct. She had a daughter (my great grandmother) Mary Elizabeth and one of the younger sons was John Dillworth Schaefer. Are you related to this family? The census information lines up wonderfully, I just haven't found any marriage records.
Thanks :-)

Jobs in Pleasant Valley
I have transferred the Jobs to you--I had no idea who belonged to whom, so I am glad you can make the connections.

Looking though the memorials you created, I noticed several in Putnam Co., Missouri. I only recently created a genealogy page for Putnam Co.:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~moputna2/index.html
Not a lot on it yet, but I thought you might want to have a look. My Putnam Co. lines were Downs, Grogan and Ashlock. Just a coincidence, but I had some Ashlock cousins also buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Harper Co., OK.

Thank you!

William Fox
Henry Russ's Mother or Mother-in-law?
Henry Russ who is buried in the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery located in Montgomery County, New York was married to Barbara Hatmaker but the lady listed in the 1855 census is his "mother-in-law" Barbara (Fritcher) Hatmaker, widow of Hendrick "Henry" Hatmaker. Apparently the census taker didn't make the distinction as to whose mother Barbara Hatmaker was which caused the confusion between Henry Russ's wife, Barbara Hatmaker and her mother, Barbara (Fritcher) Hatmaker. Barbara (Hatmaker) Russ's older brother, Joseph Hatmaker married Jane Winne, my Gt Grandfather, John J. Winne's older sister. I have studied the Hatmaker Family for many years. Would you please update Henry Russ's Memorial page to reflect the correct information. You can contact me through my e-mail address; foxy4401@hotmail.com. Thank You, William L. Fox.

OH! I'm sorry that I did not mention it to you that the Red Bank Register - the RBR is online - it has been online for a while now so I simply presume that most everyone knows

It is a great resource - I hope that the RBR serves you well

RE: 118123886 Emma Van Brunt

I did notice that you got the surname we discussed from Family Search which is a great resource - but it isn't always 100% correct

Recently I saw one person who was said to have died in the 1860's and lo and behold - I found both his wife and him in the 1900 Federal census

Sometimes when one is reading a record - the name is almost impossible to see - and even I have to guess at what the name and the spelling is

The Red Bank Register is online and a great resource of biths marriages and deaths with obituaries and I know that Mrs Emma H Van Brunt appears there

see 2/3/1932 pg 19 Col 2

age 61

This particular obituary does not name the parents but it does give some family information

I'll delete the page for Emma (Hendrickson) Van Brunt I had posted in findagrave

thanks

Mike

Please note that I go to Trenton NJ in order to view birth marriage and death certificates and it is in Trenton NJ where I viewed the death certificate for Emma Van Brunt where I discovered her mother's maiden name is "Sherman"
