Swan/Swain/Swayn
also: since 2010 I have been documenting at Laurel Hill Cemetery at Reading, Middlesex County, MA. There are a lot of Swain surname there which often is used alternatively on gravestone with Swayn and Swan. Just a heads up. Back in those days spelling by the King's English or by sound were both acceptable before the standard was established, that's why the multi spelling of surname for family members even within same family plot.

Meeting House Hill (Methuen, MA)
Hi Michael,

I was with Jack Parker today at Meeting House Hill. I am finding a lot of your requests by chance because we kind of split the cemetery by starting photography on opposite ends. Jack photo sets contain a lot of Swan surname as well.

Enjoy the photos, you probably could not get in yourself (the gate is always locked !!). I tried on and off for about 4 years, what a pain.

Best,

RE: Davis, Swa
Got back to Meeting House Hill today. Am uploading a number of other Swan and Davis memorials/photos. My camera died halfway through and now looking at the photos - it would appear there is some moisture in there, so half of each photo is a bit blurry. Argh.

Reminder for George Brown
Can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker?

Forest Home Cemetery: 708-366-1900 or 773-287-0772

This cemetery will not assist photo volunteers with finding the grave's location and the Find A Grave FAQs (Help File) states it is the photo requestors job to provide this information.

Thank you! Ace

Hi! In regards to your photo request, can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the memorial or send it to me.

Forest Home Cemetery: 708-366-1900 or 773-287-0772

Forest Home is a huge cemetery with well over 70,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find someone there and take a photo of a grave. I go here regularly, and since August I have found over 150 graves at Forest Home that had the location information provided. Thank you! Ace

Dear Michael,

I am so thrilled that you found the graves of my great great parents and their daughter Adelaide.

I can't wait to share this with my 92 year old aunt who has been helping me with my genealogy research.

Thank you so much.

Hi Michael,

I added yr of birth to her memorial as requested. Please check your email as I have also sent you a very good website with Swans in my area and all over Massachusetts, not sure if you've seen it. Good research tool.

Timothy P Schultz
parents grave plots
I am trying to locate a certain cemetery. It's called Hillview Memorial Gardens. My Parents Dennis Marvin and Virginia C Schultz purchased 2 grave plots at Hillview Memorial Gardens at 8900 Andersonville Rd. in Clarkston, MI 48016 back in 1967. I would like help in finding an address to this cemetery or a phone number to someone who could help me in locating this cemetery and possibly being able to sell these two plots. My Dad, Dennis passed away in July and my Mom and him have a plot now up in Rogers City, MI where they have resided for over 40 years now. Could you please email me back with ANY information you can find? I would greatly appreciate this!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

RE: Newton Graves
I just got back into town and saw your message. Then I checked Find a Grave.
You and your family are one of the few kind and caring people left. I have no way to express in words what a wonderful jesture.

My husband and I were just in Colorado in Animas (Durango) to try to find my husbands ancestors. The historical society there said that the cemetery is so run down they don't allow anyone on the land. It made me so sad to think that no one was left alive to care for their families grave sites. They said they don't want to clean it up because they "think" they will distroy the stones and wood markers.

So again Thank you!
