Ellen Berno in Hurley, Wisconsin
Hello JoAnn. I can go look for a photo of the tombstone for Ellen when we get a spring thaw. If it is possible could you please call or write to the St. Msry's rectory In Hurley and get the location of the grave (block only would be helpful). They only give the information to families and they cut me off (I can't be related to ALL:) The cemetery isn't real large, but it would be easier and quicker if I had a location to start with. Thanks, Lynn

Hi Joanne,I am looking for my Hodges ancestry and I believe Cecil A may be my Grandfather Robert Lee's brother. He has the same birthday. His mother would be Emma M. Hodges. I would appreciate any information.Thank you,Lynn

RE: John Spreitzer Photo
The Bench is right by John's grave so I was guessing the family wanted a place to sit and remember him . It's is a very nice bench that made it easy to find his grave.

Photo Requests
You're very welcome! I realize I did not get every picture that you requested. However, I plan on visiting the cemetery again within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I will be able to get the remainder of the pictures for you. I enjoy helping people connect with their ancestry. :-)

I will be glad to take some pics at Woodland Heights. If you will submit the requests on Findagrave, I will print out the list and get them sometime this week. :-)

Hi JoAnn: I would be happy to do as you requested, however, I'm not sure what to do. Ceclia is on Bennie's headstone and I can't find a John Berno with the same memorial number you listed. Help!!

Hi JoAnn: I have taken Maxinowski photos for you. Today, a daughter of Alexander contacted me saying she's his daughter and is inquiring as to my relationship. Would you like me to pass your name along to her. Her first name is Karen. Pati

JoAnn, Arthur Peacock purchased 3 lots at Oakview Cemetery in 1936. In 1956 he authorized the burial of his mother in law, Velonia M. May to be buried grave 1. We show that Velonia had a son named Elbert May in Dryden MI. In 1975 Arthur passed away and was buried by his wife, Virgie Ester May Peacock. In 1991, Virgie passed and we show a nephew Evertt May. Our records show that Arthur Peacock lived at 101 Balmoral Ave. Detroit, Mi in 1936 and that was his address when he died. I don't know where Virgie was living when she died but her place of death is shown as Detroit. Isn't genealogy fun? cj

RE: Edward Berno's site
I will be happy to do that. If you would like to manage any memorials of Mary and John's family members I will be happy to transfer them.

Best regards,

Are you related to Velonia May? I work at Oakview Cemetery and while browsing the Oakview Find A Grave memorials I saw your memorial for her. Our records show two other Mays buried near her. If you would like more information let me know.

Hi JoAnn
I was in the Hurley cemetery today. Another person requested some Maxinoski photos. Just wanted to let you know that I added:
Edwin C., Baby Eileen D., Eileen J., Marie C., and Bennie and Jennie. If these are family members, let me know and I will transfer.
I posted photos for:
Axel., Genevieve, Baby Wallace John, John and Regina,
As far as I can tell, I have to find a headstone for an Alexander yet. I was just too cold to keep walking today. Pati

Hi JoAnn: I am the person who walked most of the Hurley cemetery and added some Max. photos. Today I was going through the Iron county records looking for my husband's family and I came across an Emelia Maxinoski with a birthdate (I believe it was a birthdate and not a death date) of 6-15-1902. Since the name Maxinoski always jumps out at me now, I was just wondering if Emelia was part of your family. Just nosey I guess.:)

I see you have listed Walter Lubey Ellison's info. Is there a gravemarker? I would love to see it. This is my husband's grandfather. I have his birth date Feb. 11, 1881. He was born in Brinkley, Calloway County, Kentucky not in Mississippi. He arrived in Mississippi from Arkansas in 1918. He died in Rosedale, Mississippi. He was a meat cutter and owned and ran a large grocery store in Rosedale in the 1930s-40s. I have a picture of him in his store with the town's doctor and another customer. In his later years he ran a smaller store in his neighborhood before he died.

Hello: When I was at the Hurley cemetery taking pictures of the family for a request--I took all the Maxinowski headstones that I could find. I took Williams and posted the photo and added Stella's also. Since you manage Williams, I thought perhaps you would also prefer to manage Stellas. Let me know and I would be happy to transfer to you. I see that you also manage the other memorials for the family. I will be adding their headstones tonight. I only walked 3/4 of this large cemetery, so I don't think I got them all, but I found most of them. thx. Pati

Sims at IOOF
The only way that I can explain the parental links is that you have to manage the memorial to be able to add the parents or spouse. I transferred the Sims to you and now you should see all the links.
