|TRISH||Jacob & Louisa (Spaulding) Weber|
Your very welcome!
On the 1855 NY Census [for Elicottville, Cattaraugus Co.], Chester M. Weber is 3 years old, born about 1852 Erie Co., NY, and is noted as being 'adopted'.
I have found and posted Louisa's obituary to her memorial and in the obit it states that Chester was a 'nephew'....and that he accompanied them to Wisconsin.
So it could be that they never legally 'adopted' him at all and just reared him as their own...he having the same surname could mean he might have been a child of one of Jacob's brothers?
But he was NOT their biological child.
Chester Michail/Michael Weber married Mary Eloise Beebe on 11/30/1881 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL and they had two daughters. Helen born 4/27/1887 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL; died 10/20/1983 Beverly, MA. Helen married a Mr. Erhard & was a world traveler. Second daughter, Mary Alice, was born 12/04/1890 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL and died 4/28/1891 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL at approx 4 months of age.
Chester died 5/26/1894 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL at age 41 yrs. At the time of his death, his occupation was listed as 'wholesale jeweler'. In his will the only relatives mentioned were his wife, Mary, and daughter, Helen.
Chester was a hard fellow to follow, as on every record he gave a different birthplace for himself, or his spouse gave the wrong info for him.
:) Happy Hunting

Are you related? Didn't see anything on your bio wall about any relations...

I've requested a picture of the gravestone for the memorial I created. That should aid us. She may be listed on a family stone in one cemetery but actually buried in another..hopefully a picture will shed some light on it.

I've transferred Mary (Button) Lewis to your management after noticing your recent sponsorship. She's my 8th great grandmother, and I'm assuming you're also a direct descendant or at least have a shared interest. It's been several years since I actively researched this line of my family and perhaps you have something to add to the family story. The current bio info, dates, and burial location are by no means written in stone so please feel free to edit any part of the memorial to your satisfaction.
If I have any other memorials in this family line that interest you, don't be shy about asking for a transfer.

Thanks for sponsoring this. Don't really understand how it works or why I wasn't the sponsor since I was the person who submitted the info.
