Dodge family
You put pics of Pauline Dodge Danielsen on findagrave. I assume your related? I would like to find out more about the two infant girls that died. I am doing research to fill in names of people buried in the Palisade, Ne Cemetery. I have Burton Dodge and another child but the card only says girl? I found a death notice for Burton but nothing for the other child. Do you have any further information. The names of two infant girls are listed in Pauline's obituary but I don't know which would of died here or if both could of. Thank you

Thanks for the prompt transfer. How did you happen to enter Andrew on Findagrave here in Saratoga County, NY?

William Philo
I am researching William Archie Philo in connection with his first wife Bertha Elizabeth Bisdee who is my cousin. Specifically I am trying to learn whether they had a child. The 1900 census for William indicates he is a widower with no children but I recall having been told they had one child. Would appreciate any information you can provide. Thank you.

RE: Leora Wheeler
You are welcome for the transfer. I think relatives are better suited to take care of family members memorials.

Union Cemetery
Note - I am in the middle of cataloging this entire cemetery, and I have posted several "new" Philos.

RE: Lindley
I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow Carl. I'm up way to late for an old guy and I'm trying to teach a man from rural Kenya how to use a computer so he can start a church. I have the Lindley's quite a ways back.
Quaker lines almost always have some cross-over because they usually married within the denomination and that limited them to a very specific gene pool. My great grandparents A. E. Harvey and Mary S Lindley were related back along the line. The Lindley and Harvey families seemed to always live close to each other.

Ah - sorry about that. I'm sure the links will get re-established before too long.

Hi Carl -

Which information are you referring to? Now that yours is deleted, I cannot see it. I believe Thomas Dunne manages the other memorial.

I'm not trying to cause trouble - I jsut happened to notice there were duplicate memorials...

RE: J S Philo
I was thinking about marriages of Philo's in Woodson Co. after I sent you the note. In the Woodson Co marriages book there is one listing for a William Philo:

Philo, William T Jr, 18 Alsop, Betty E, 17 19 Jan 1950, P-307

Nothing was listed under women with a maiden name of Philo.

RE: J S Philo
I have a copy of the listing in Cedarvale that was published in a book on cemeteries in Woodson Co. in the 1980's (I think it was). The only Philo listed is J S Philo. I do not know if you are familiar with the cemetery but it is in poor condition. It floods anytime the river gets out and I think many stones may have been covered over due to the flooding. Many stones are very very old, some are broken, hard to read etc. I have taken photos of about 1/2 of the cemetery. J S was listed on Row 9. That would have been on the east 1/2 of the cemetery that I took photos of. Many of the lots over there do not have many tombstones on them when in reality there are numerous people buried there i.e. many don't have headstones. I do not know of any other listing for Cedarvale. I wish I could be more help. The lady that took the west 1/2 of the cemetery (name is below) may have them posted or she may not. I do not know. It was about a year ago that we were both working on it. If you go to Cedarvale on Find A Grave and find a contributor named Robin Hixon, you might send her a note and see if she has come across any stones for the Philos you listed. I am sorry I can't be of more help to you.

Just read your bio... I am a retired educator also. Undergrad. at K-State and Master's from Emporia State. Spent alot of time as a child in Alma, NE so know where McCook is at. (I think you mentioned McCook on your profile.)

RE: J S Philo
I should have told you I could check the book at the public library (can't check it out) for any other names you might be searching for and let you know what I find or don't find. You can let me know.

RE: J S Philo
Cedarvale Cemetery is a very "poor" cemetery....the area is prone to flooding and so many of the stones are in very bad shape/hard to read. The only listing of graves is a book listing many of the cemeteries in Woodson Co. and it lists those that are buried there. I'm not positive where the list for each cemetery came from. I personally walked and photographed the eastern 1/2 of the cemetery and another lady did the west 1/2. I do not know if she has all of her's posted yet. Her name is Robin Hixon so if you find her name as the contributor on some of the memorials at Cedarvale you might inquire to her via email if she knows of any more people with the name(s) you are looking for. Other than that, I probably can't help you much. I did transfer J S to you.

Yes, I see that. I'll be on the lookout for any of the Philo name that may be on the side that's been under brush. Most of the stones are laying down just beneath the surface. We've found 11 so far.

Hi, I thought I would let you know I left a photo for Rosewell Zook #58526242 in McLouth (KS) Cemetery. I saw you had already posted a photo, but now the death date is engraved on his stone.
