Did Esther (Asner) Edelman have a daughter Elizabeth?
Hi Ann Maree,

I am researching the family of Actor Ed Asner. I was told a week ago by a cousin-in-law a week ago that Ed Asner is an Uncle to Elizabeth, widow of NFL great David "Deacon" Jones. The cousin-in-law is David's 2nd cousin. I wasn't told Elizabeth's Maiden Name, so I'm assuming that Elizabeth is a daughter of one of Ed's siblings, rather than a daughter of one of his wx-wives' siblings.

I saw that you created a Memorial for Esther (Asner) Edelman, and added a Candle for her, so I'm assuming you knew Esther. Was Esther the mother of Elizabeth (????) Jones? If not, do you know which of Ed Asner's siblings has a daughter Elizabeth?

Thanks,
Grant Sullivan, genealogist and cousin-in-law to
the Crooms-Jones family

Elizabeth A Stout Barnett Beard memorial
Thank you for the heads up, I always double check my memorials never want to create a duplicate,
However, never checked the first marriage.
I have contacted the original person, and we will resolve it. Again, I appreciate your input.

RE: Herbert Gibbs
I have accepted all of your edits and I appreciate that you have attempted to provide me with access to some documentation that would verify the information you submitted. Seems like we have spent way too much time on all of this, but what else have we got to do right??? Hope you have a happy day and thanks again.

Hey, thanks for the headstone pictures. Did Hebert not have one with his name on it? You posted for for May, but not her husband. I accepted your edit for her maiden name. Thanks so much for all of your time and effort in trying to document this family.

Another request--please provide the source of May's b & d dates and locations and of her maiden name. I'm sorry about having to request this info, but it turns out that way too many of the edits I receive are incorrect and I don't want to add or have correct info removed because of this new edit feature. I request on my profile for people to please provide source info if it is not readily available on the memorials. Thanks.

RE: Hebert Gibbs
Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply to my request for your source for Hebert's parents. I will take your word for it and I will approve the edit. It sure would be nice if you could post the obits so I wouldn't have to keep bothering you and asking for sources and then that info would be available to people looking at the memorials. Thanks again.

Send me the other names and I will see if I have a picture of them. Some of the ones have been moved and have headstone in other places. I have pictures of other names but as I said did not think anyone was there.

I went back and looked at the pictures I made a couple years ago and rechecked and your Price was one of them. I added a picture to your memorial, but it is not a good one. I will go get a better one. I really did not think anyone was buried there anymore.

RE: Oak Hill
Yes there was or is a Mausoleum in the Oak Hill Cemetery. I do not think anyone is buried in it now. Who do you think you have buried in the mausoleum? I can go back through my pictures. It just seems to me none of the names in the mausoleum were very visible. There was some trouble in the cemetery years ago and several graves had to be moved. I really do not remember enough about it to say but I can find out whatever you want to know. I am in the same county and can find out who the caretaker is or get you the number and you can ask them yourself.
Blessings
Anita

Mary Ann Russell
Thank you for creating the listing for Mary Ann Russell in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Somerset, Jackson County, Illinois.

Mary is a 3X Great Grandmother to me through her son James A Russell. I had been uncertain that the Mary Russell shown in the 1900 Census living with Simpson Russell and Alex Russell in Illinois was indeed my ancestor, since previously the family had resided in Kentucky. There was nothing to tie her to James A. Your listing includes her four sons, all of whom are listed with her in the 1860 Census; Alex (Alexander), Simpson (Hiram S), James, and Clay (Claiborn).

Can you tell me how the listing of her sons was associated with her burial in this cemetery?

Again, thank you so much!

Michael Russell

Would you mind sending me some pertinent info on the other William Martin's that you have in the area? I will follow them and see what I can figure out.

RE; Union County
Ann,

Do you live in Union County, Illinois? I will be taking a business trip to the area in a couple of weeks and am going to try and documents literally a couple hundred of my relatives' gravestones in that area. I'm trying to see if there are any internet based listing of memorials so that I can use my time most effectively. You can reach me at chadkendell@msn.com. Thanks.

RE: William Martin
I can give you the 1860 census record that shows he was there. His family then moved on to Moultrie, IL and then on to Macon County. He didn't leave Carbondale. My family tree records show the birth date I gave you and the death date as 15 Jan 1864 in Carbondale, Jackson, IL. The interesting thing about the below record is that they has 3 more children, which don't show on this record. But he was definitely there. Hope this helps.

He has taken several photos of headstones in this area and may have just mixed up the photo with the wrong cemetery.
