You are the one, who needs to delete the Blacks from Bloomfield. Jeanne Prichett owns their sites in Ponca Valley, so she needs to link them. I am the one, who recorded the cemetery and found the error. Thank you for responding. It is good to get everyone where they belong.

Hi - have added Golden Valley County - his obituary says NEAR Trotters, not in Trotters.
You do know that you could have used the edit tab on his memorial and entered the information?
High Plains :)

|Suzanne DeVier||DeVier Cemetery|
That entire area as you know was the DeVier Plantation over 300 acres - and land was deeded over to sons - so the property got broken apart and different portions of the family buried in different areas I guess. The James DeVier family and their Patterson decendants (that hill that I took the photo of) were all buried on that hill. Uncle Clint saw the stones too when he was kid - someone showed him because of the last name. The bodies were re-interred in Mossy Creek Presbyterian in the 70's I think - so that's the reason there are no markers left. There is actually a stone for James and his wife in Mossy Creek.
I have no clue who is buried on what is now the Craun property. The cemetery under the hay barn is the original cemetery - probably where the original Hugh and family are buried. The home that sits 50 feet or so from the hay barn was built in 1808 and rebuilt in 1865 after the Civil War -the Union Army burned it. It is brick with large front pillars and sits about 25 feet from the the road - Rt. 727 or Spring Creek Road. That went from the Devier family to the Miller family to the Jordan family - they are decendants of the DeViers as well. The James DeVier home is owned by the Ranninger Family (or was a few years ago) and is the brown painted brick home sitting at the corner of 727 and 613. It's right down the road from the cemetery on the hill. I just wanted to clarify that there are 3 separate cemeteries and 2 of them have been designated by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Historical Society. They apparent don't know about the original one as it's sits under a hay barn. I talked to Clint about that one as well and he told me that he remembered another incident of seeing old grave stones with his last name on them when he was a kid - lying on the floor of an old barn. Again, someone took him to see them because of the last name. He went back when he was older and they were gone. This is probably the hay barn that I was referred to June 1st. But per a Jordan descendant that I spoke with on the property that day -that is where the original cemetery was.

|Suzanne DeVier||DeVier Family Cemetery|
I'm noticing that you are placing a number of Devier's in this cemetery and stating that they were buried on the DeVier Plantation. The
The cemetery on the "plantation" property is neither DeVier Cemetery #1 or #2. (The combo listed here at FindAGrave) It is altogether a separate cemetery. I was actually on the property 6/1/2013 and inquired as to the cemetery's location and was lead straight to an old hay barn. It is under this building now. The stones are gone.
DeVier Cemetery #2 is the photo I put up - the hill at the corner of 613 and 750 (Nazarene Church Rd) and was originally Patterson property, now belongs to the Phillips family. Most of the burials there have been removed to Mossy Creek Presbyterian. Burials used to be marked with field stones.
DeVier Cemetery #1 is actually south of Spring Creek near an old school house on what is now Craun property, also former Patterson property. I can't get near this one, its in the middle of a field - I know where it is based on an old map of the area.

Thanks - it's certainly not a big deal, but when I see outrageous errors duplicated again and again in people's family trees, it's probably better to correct even the small ones when it's possible (does that make any sense?).
