Frank Chase
Marker in location I-0-3-1W is George F Chase. I believe Frank is the middle name. Maker shows year of birth 1872. Cemetery records shows 12/7/1879. Date of death is 1/13/1935.

RE: re: Ida Byrd
Found a Raymond Bowman - attached a photo for you. The only "Lillie" in the entire cemetery is Lillie Richie (attached a photo of that one also). FWIW - Lillie Richie and Raymond Bowman are near, but not adjacent to one another. They are in section 3, the newest section. Ida is in section 2, and at least 250 feet from Bowman. Bowman is in an area generally known for county (pauper) burials, and his marker looks like typical county issue. My wife's grandmother is in the section 2 pauper section and Ida is immediately to her right. Ida's marker is definitely not county issue. Could not find any others on your list, and not even sure Bowman is correct. I'll keep these names in case I run into them during my survey work - but, nothing rings a bell so far. If, by any chance, the others may have been pauper burials, prior to 1985 or so, they were buried at the county farm, a few miles away - there were no records or markers at that location. If you get death certs, holler at me - I might be able to help further. Gordon

RE: re: Ida Byrd
My pleasure - that cemetery is right around the corner from me. My wife's grandmother is buried directly next to Ida. Gordon

No, I'm not related. It's just something I do that I find terribly rewarding and serene, and knowing I'm doing some kindness for some stranger who may never know it! So when they do - as you did today - I'm rewarded, and if they never do, I still find my reward in just knowing I got a chance to honor these soldiers. That's reward in and of itself. :)

Pressgrave at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery
Hi, I will be loading 3 photos and it might take me until tonight due to grandsons bombarding my house right now.

I'm sorry it's taken me until the last day; I have been sick a lot this fall and winter and had lots on my plate. I'll finish before bed tonight.

Are you family?

You are quite welcome, my pleasure to do it. I did take a photo of Sophronia's also, but you have probably noticed it by now. Let me know if I can do anything else.

RE: Joseph Forbes
No name of the cemetery that I know of. It's just a small private cemetery on his property.

Good news, though. In looking back through my photos, I did have one of Sallie's grave. I have uploaded it to her record here.

RE: Joseph Forbes headstone photo
Well, I could be wrong about where his wife if buried. I took a picture of every headstone in the cemetery on my brother-in-law's property, though, and if she is buried there, I do not believe she has a headstone.

RE: Joseph Forbes headstone photo
I only have a picture of Joseph Forbes' headstone. He is not buried next to his wife. He is buried in a small private cemetery on my brother-in-law's land near Buladean, NC.

Jeri: A. Powell Hardin is my great (x2) grandfather! Are you related to this family? I would welcome learning what genealogy you have on this family. I have compiled much over the years too so maybe I can add to yours. Please feel free to contact me directly at keith@ekeithjohnson.com Thanks for the transfer and it was great making your acquaintance! Keith

I'm not sure what happened, but think I got that from cemetery records at one time. In looking at the stone on hers, I believe what may have happened is, the stone is broken and the top half was probably not showing, if you look at it it just says W. A. Todd and the dates, the top half that is broke off has her name. It got recorded as his headstone I bet is what the deal is. I am deleteing him, so think you are right that is her dates and he is not buried here. Don't know anymore about it.

I went today to take photos of Carol and Frank But since there was a recent death there is only a marker, I will keep an eye on this for you for when there is a headstone marked.
