Harry Wm. Davidson Photo

For Harry Davidson #76385081 at Pleasant Union, you have replicated the photo and data for William Davidson #11730584. You may want to check your records and correct Harry's listing. Unfortunately, I do not have any info on Harry so I can't offer any help.

I have many relatives in Pleasant Union including my parents (in new section), grandparents (Ward), plus Lutz and Davidson. Thanks for your efforts.

Adolph Unger #78622531
Hello, Michael: Would you be willing to link Adolph Unger, Memorial #78622531, 1890-1965, with his parents and grandmother buried at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania? There is quite a lot of information included under their names:

Adolph Unger (father to Adolph): #99847861
Ida Schilpp Unger(mother): #99787009
Caroline Unger (grandmother): #99848353

My great-great grandfather, Jacob Schiller, married for the second time Phillipina Schilpp. Ida Schilpp Unger is the daughter of Phillipina and her first husband, Cristoph FRIEDRICH Schilpp.

I found the story of Adolph and his brother, Harry, very touching and wish to re-unite them with their parents. The parents and paternal grandmother of the two boys died in quick succession and both boys were sent to an orphanage in Tiffin, Ohio. Adolph eventually became the mayor of Tiffin and Harry perished, along with all his ship mates, all hands declared dead in 1918,aboard the USS Cyclops, which disappeared without a trace in the Caribbean after leaving Barbados.

I became curious about Adolph and his family after I found a photo of Adolph as an infant in the pages of an old album which belonged to the Schiller family and was generously given to me by Nancy Kirsch.

Sincerely, Leslie

Bernard Berlekamp, Memorial 46878554
Hello Michael,

You posted two photos to this memorial, and judging from the dates it looks like else someone posted the same photos before you posted yours. The photos look identical. I am not sure who copied who, but would you delete your two photos, or work with the other person to delete their two photos (if they stole you photos)?

It kind of looks like someone took your photos, then cropped off your copyright.

But, the way it is now, no more photos can be added to this memorial because of the duplicate photos that have been posted.

Bernard Berlekamp

Thank you!

If you are still active, please transfer these two memorials to me. Thanks. Betty Durrett

Myron Phillip Blue
Myron Phillip ‘Babe' Blue, 96, of Fort Seneca, passed away Friday, October 08, 2010, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

Babe was born November 6, 1913, in Melmore, to Cleveland C. and Rosina L. (Kapp) Blue. He married Lena I. Mellott June 28, 1940 and she sadly passed away on August 29, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda L. (Daryl) Stover of Tiffin; two sons, M. Roger (Elaine) Blue of Old Fort; and Marshall B. (Marcia) Blue of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife, Lena; is a son, Michael S. Blue on April 17, 2010; a sister, Ruth I. Williams; a brother, W. Marion Blue; and a grandson, Eric Blue in 1967.

Myron was a 1932 graduate of Old Fort High School, where he was a four-letter man in athletics and won first place as a baritone vocalist, singing "The Bells of St. Mary's". A friend said there wasn't a dry eye in the house when he finished. He remembered attending a one room school house (west of Fort Seneca) in his early years.

One of Babe's earliest work experiences was plowing fields with 2 large mules. He claimed they could kick very hard and could bite even harder. He tried to join the Army during WWII, but was denied because he had an infant daughter, and was turned away at the bus depot. Babe worked at Basic Refractories for 36 years as well as trying his hand as a Seneca County farmer. His kids still remember picking pickles and de-tasseling corn by hand and the kick the tractor gave you when you tried to crank it.

He was a member of Fort Seneca United Church of Christ and sang at the Ritz Theatre during the vaudeville era. For many years, Myron and Lena loved to fish on Lake Erie every chance they could. He served on many soup kitchens with his loving wife, Lena. Babe was a kind and gentle person, who enjoyed life. He was a ninth generation Blue and was prone to saying ‘see ya' and ‘buck up'.

Babe and his brother, Marion, are remembered as the donors of the land that the Fort Seneca baseball diamonds now sit upon.

His Funeral Service will be 1:30 PM, Monday, October 11 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Becky Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.

Friends may visit with the family 11:30 - 1:30 PM, Monday, October 11, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to Fort Seneca United Church of Christ.

Letters of condolence may be sent, and the guest book signed at
