Charlotte Hansford
Picture of Thomas Officer/Emily Brown family
My name is Charlotte Harper Hansford. I am great granddaughter of above. The 5 boys in this photo are Virgil, Bailey, Dennis, James, and Harvey (my grandfather. My mother, Katie, was the oldest child of Harvey Officer and Scytha Bohannon.

My mom had this picture at one time, but I can't find it. She had "the boys" names on it. Sorry I don't know who is who; has anyone else sent any info?

Are you a relative?

Roy Pickett #124781612
I just added a couple photos per your request for Roy Pickett. As fyi, in the photo with several grave markers, the single marker on the left is his sister Billie Jean Pickett, in the middle the double marker is Roy and his wife Ruth, and the double marker on the right are his parents Mallie and Flossie Pickett. I added Find A Grave records for Mallie and Flossie. If you would like to manage their records, let me know.

Champ Vaughan
Mary Armstrong Officer (1695 - 1777)
Public records indicate that Mary Armstrong Officer was born in America (Maryland Colony) and not Northern Ireland. The birthdate of "May 9, 1695" is correct. Mary is my 6th GGM and her husband, James Officer, is my 6GGF. My 2GGF, James Officer, came to Oregon in 1845. His daughter, Susan Mary Officer (my 1GGM), married my 1GGF, William Hatchette Vaughan. Thanks for reviewing this edit.

Officer Children St. Johns Cemetery
Sorry about the quality of the headstones for Sallie and John Thomas. The headstone for Sallie actually reads "Little Sallie, Daughter of J.H. & I, Officer." Sallie birth date is clearly visible.

John's headstone is harder to read. Close inspection under magnification, you can make out the "J.T. Officer and the death year 1899."

I grew up in Clay Couty and left when I was 18. I live about 120 miles from the cemetery. I'll try and do a better job on my next visit. My great great aunt by marriage was Jane Chowning Dale the childrens mother Ida's sister.

RE: John Paine Davis 1869-1957
You are welcome. Glad to help. I didn't see any of the wives names you mentioned close by.

I saw a tree on ancestry that mentioned Gertrude and Pluma as his daughters. Both names were close by... I created a memorial for Pluma Belless and linked her to John Davis. If this is incorrect, let me know and I will remove the link.

I added a pic to the memorial for Gertrude Ward. Perhaps this is John's daughter?

William H Officer 1840-1920.
I was most happy to get this photo for you. William's Daughter Mary was married to my great grand Uncle Edward Alonzo Campbell. Been trying for years to get someone to take photos of that cemetery and finally made the trip from the West Coast to the Midwest to do it myself.

RE: Thomas Marquis Newell 1815-1865.
You're welcome. I added the Hosick graves to post my photos. your info was very helpful. I believe that Henry M Hosick was a leather dealer (big time) and the husband of Mary N Hosick. A Google Books reference for Henry mentions the death of his wife that matches her date. Mary may be the daughter of Thomas and Martha Newell (matching headstone and middle initial N). best wishes, Bob Lerch

Please add a photo request for Thomas. It makes it a little easier to locate and I am credited with adding the photo. Thanks, will love to load more photos. Do you know who the Hosick family is on the neighboring headstones? Look like maybe in-laws? Bob

Oscar H Williams
Hello, I just came across Oscar's Find A Grave Memorial - He would have been my 3rd cousin 1x removed. I am related thru his mothers family line - Mary Elizabeth Whetstone - her mother: Catherine Anna Horn - Her mother: Catherine Otto whose father was Harbert Otto (my 3x great grandfather). I have been working on the Otto family genealogy for over 30 years altho until I retired in 2007 it was put on the shelf. I am about to the point that I am going to have a book published on the Otto family and when and where they originated - in Germany. As I am editing it I am trying to fill in the family members that are lacking in info. - The Williams family is one of them. I live near Wichita, KS and would enjoy visiting more with you. My e-mail is Looking forward to hearing from you. Linda King

Nancy Wilhite
Hey Wayne,

I was just wondering if you would know whether Nancy Wilhite, the wife of John Officer, was married previously. I'm trying to find out if this Nancy is the same one that would have been married to William Redman in 1882, in Missouri, and then lived in Colorado for a short time (I suppose). He would have died in 1883. Thanks!

I wasn't happy with the way the 1st set of photos turned out for the Breneman clan, so I went back and got better ones. Glad to help.
