Sarah Sallie Hearne & Edmund Barringer
Hi Dottie,

Thanks so much for the headstone photos of Sarah Sallie Hearne (1815-1887) and Edmund G. L. Barringer (1810-1890 at Zion United Methodist Cemetery.

As always, much appreciated, and keep up the great work!!

I haven't been on much lately, but I road tripped up to the Ancestry Day conference at the Philadelphia Convention Center last weekend ... to try and get my mojo back.

I was surprised at the turnout. It looked like about 3,000 people, and I heard several people discussing Find-A-Grave.

They also talked about a new phone app ... shoebox for android, which will upload the photos directly from your phone to your tree, and add the gps co-ordinates to it too.

Lots of talk about the DNA testing and a few different advanced search techniques.

It was good to see so many people committed to researching and documenting the past.

Take care,
Mike

RE: Judith H Saunders Freeman
Hi Dorothy,

I may have gotten the photo you see in Findagrave from another website or one that was on a database I was given. Photos I take, I try and put the date in the lower right corner. That photo did not have any information of where it came from in my database.

I will correct the caption on my pictures. Sorry for the confusion. I am just glad to be able to correct my database.

Take care

Just wondering
I see that you have taken photos in Mongomery County, NC. Are you familiar with,

Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
Mount Gilead
Montgomery County
North Carolina, USA .

If so I was wondering if you are planning on taking photo of that Cemetery. Let me know, regards.

Wilkie RE: Saunders/Sanders at Macedonia Presbyterian Ch.
If you will, please forward the cemetery lists to Findagrave and explain the situation. They can resolve the matter much faster than we can. They will find the ones who should be listed in the Presbyterian and the ones who should be listed in the Methodist. They will also give credit to the correct person, thank you and regards.

Saunders/Sanders at Macedonia Presbyterian Ch.
You sent the following:
"Saunders/Sanders at Macedonia Presbyterian Ch.
Hello,

I'm afraid I have discovered a major error in the GenWeb listings for the Saunders/Sanders family in Montgomery County, NC. Most of the memorials for these family members that you posted, using the list, as being interred at Macedonia Presbyterian Church in Candor, Montgomery County, NC are actually buried at Macedonia UMC Church, Star (Abner community..I used to live there and attended the church). Another contributor has, subsequent to your work, added memorials at this cemetery..some with links and photos. The lady who compiled the listings that are posted on GenWeb was the mother of my next door neighbor. She made a huge effort, but my neighbor is the first to admit that there are quite a few errors. I have another set of Montgomery County listings, which place the Saunders/Sanders family members in question as being buried at Macedonia UMC, Star. (to add to all this confusion, there is another "Macedonia" UMC church in our county in Eldorado)

So, what to do to keep things in order for those who use Find A Grave? Would it be too much to ask you to delete your listings? I can send edit requests on the memorials in question. I really, really hate to ask you to do this, but the memorials the other contributor added were done so in good faith. I mostly take photos, but appreciate all the work it takes to add memorials for us all.

Let me know what you think.

My best, Dorothy Wilkie"

Are you saying all the memorials are wrong, or just the Sanders, I am a bit confused. There is over 300 entries and it will take a long time to delete them all. Please give me some input here, regards.
