I don't think I knew his grave was unmarked. I believe at the time I was just documenting veterans' gravesites. If you know it is unmarked, I'll be happy to make a notation. If you are not sure, I can take a look the next time I go to Forest Hills Cemetery.

I spoke with the owner of Winterham B&B today and this cemetery is not on the 15 acres that they own. She has gotten several calls and emails based on whomever entered the info on FindAGrave that says it's on their property (and while she was very nice she seemed to be getting a bit tired of the phone calls).
I also contacted Senator Watkins office and left a message for him or some of his staff to call me because the Winterham property does adjoin the Watkins Nursery property owned by Sen. Watkins.

Marsha - do you have more detailed location information?
I drove out to Amelia this afternoon and looked for the cemetery at 11441 with no luck. The address is currently a Bed & Breakfast - Winterham Plantation, est 1848. I will contact them to see if they know the location.
Next door at 11440 is the Winterham Farm which is now Watkins Nurseries property. The original Watkins Nursery near Midlothian was taken over a number of years ago by a highway 288 loop and exchange project. I talked with an old black gentleman at the Nursery barn. He said he has worked on the farm for 25 years and has never seen any hint of a family cemetery. He said the original plantation had slave and tenant houses behind the big house but they were all leveled by a German fellow who came over years ago, bought all the property and leveled all of the outbuildings. He said that fellow was an architect and he designed and built all of the present barns and farm buildings. He referred me to a Mr Little who lives further down the road across the creek. I will try to go back on the weekend and look further.

St Mary Putnam. I'm hoping you're the requester of the Leah Landry photo. (Your name disappears after the request is filled and I didn't realize the problem until after.) I don't know if you noticed but there are two memorials for Leah Landry who died in 2010. Both of the memorials had the wrong birth date (bad math). I've requested that the earlier memorial fix the date and that the 2nd memorial be deleted. The 2nd is the one you requested the photo for. I put the photo at both.

I have spent last two days at All Hallows Cemetery in CT and did not come across the marker you requested, do you know if he shares with another person/family or if he might be interred elsewhere?

Thanks for the update. It's sad so many of the early burial grounds are fading away. I'm going to leave the memorials up, since they're included in the Caroline County Cemeteries book. Thank you for searching.

I put up the memorial....someone else took the picture. Are you related? If so, I'd be happy to transfer the memorial to you. I also fixed her name.
