Hi Lori
Just a short story as to why i wanted the photo.
A person i know found a very small almanac 25-30 years ago in a box of junk and she kept it, she told me about it and i had a look at, the first two mentioned their deaths and where and a little bit more but not much more, i research people ancestors and this almanac and story was something i had to explore. After a few days i had found out about the person who wrote in the almanac and her entire family history going back to the 1100,s in Scotland and although she never married i was able to track a living family member in Australia who had a family bible with the same transcript as the almanac, so after many emails the almanac was sent to its rightful owners in Australia last year.
I will also be sending them a copy of this photo.
So, i would like to thank you very much in your part in the return of the almanac/diary, and helping me complete my part in these peoples lives, people i may never meet but glad i was able to be of some help in bringing some happiness to them.
Thank you.

RE: Thank you!
You're welcome. It is heart breaking to read some of the obituaries, especially for the children.

I would be willing to help you in anyway I can. I am not related so if you like I can transfer you their memorials. If not then just send me whatever info you would like me to add and I will update their memorials.

James Scofield
Thanks Lori! Are you able to read the dates for James and Rachel, I can't from that angle. A history of Lafayette gives his death year as 1875 but that doesn't look like a 5 and Rachel is said to have died in 1880.

I have found all of their 8 children except Adelaide and Elizabeth, who may have married and moved away or died young and are also buried there.

Hi Lori,
I tried sending you and email message with a website to the cemetery they are buried in with the cemetery plot information but it came back undeliverable so I'm going to try and send it in here. It is
Audrey the lady that set up their pages sent it to me. It has all of the Union Grove Cemetery people listed. She said it is a very large cemetery and sometimes it is hard to find the markers.
I hope this will help.
Thank you,
Rose Mary Mullane

Hi Lori,
I want to thank you for your efforts to photograph their monuments. I did send out a message to the person that set up their pages asking her to check into the problem. Did you check with the cemetery office to see if they where actual buried in that cemetery. I have a very large Digmann/Digman family tree and I am continueing to find new people thanks to people that add people to the website. Some families are buried in different cemeteries in WI and Iowa.
Thank you again,
Rose Mary Mullane

Chauncey Cutting
Thank you so much for taking the photos of Chauncey and Laura Jane Wheeler Scofield. There are probably others relations that are buried there so I will keep searching. The photo attached to Chauncey C. Cutting is actually the headstone for his father, Chauncey Zebulon Cutting, #104840740, if you want to add it to his and delete it from the sons.

Thanks again!

RE: Gravesite photo!
You are very welcome, I am glad I could help you find your relatives. I don't know if you noticed, but if you click on the distant shot of the headstone, you will see it enlarged. To the right of that stone was a mourning dove sitting next to the stone on the right side. It was very beautiful.

Take care,
