Evans Millican
The Jeffersons
Thank you so very much for your trouble.

Even though you have provided me with this invaluable information, I still want to get up there to visit the family plot as I now know what to look for in what section.

Sincerely,

Evans Millican

Lawrence graves in Crestlawn
Thank you so much for your photos of my Lawrence cousins buried in Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. I'd certainly never have been able to see them for myself without your help. Have a great day taking photos, with blue skies, mild weather and no bugs... Jim Lawrence

My great uncle
Thank you for taking and providing the picture of the headstone for my maternal great uncle, James Albert Jefferson, who is buried at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Atlanta. His parents, James T. and Agnes P., are also buried there along with a sister, Florence Jefferson Brown. I have been wanting to get up there to see if they are all buried together.

William Percy Thornton
I am not sure if William Percy Thornton is related to Jackson Thornton. From what I can tell by looking at their memorials William is white and Jackson is black. Jackson has "US CLD INF" on his stone which means he was a member of the United States Colored Infantry. I may be wrong, but I told this to someone before and they realized they had the wrong person. Thanks and have a good day!

Jackson Thornton- Cave Hill
I've been looking for jackson's grave since June. His plot is a "fill in" where they have filled in empty lots after the original soldiers were buried during the Civil War. They don't do them in any order, whatsoever, and can be difficult to find. Sooner or later, I'll find him. It may be winter by then, but I'll find him.

RE: Janie C. Goodman
Thank you for making these changes. Lucy Smith was born on August 16, 1859. She married John Cornelius Cardell on August 29, 1876 in Jones County (Book E, page 225). Her first daughter, Janie (who later married James Edgar Goodman), and whose grave this is, was born on June 30, 1877. So, Lucy was not quite 18 when Janie was born. Lucy was my great-grandmother.

Janie C. Goodman
Your record added September 18, 2011 (Find A Grave Memorial# 76693728) shows that Janie C. Goodman's maiden name was Loe. However, Janie's name was Janie Lavantia Cardell. She was born on June 30, 1877 in Smithboro, Jasper County, Georgia and died on September 3, 1952 in Baldwin County, Georgia. She was the daughter of John Cornelius Cardell and Lucy Smith, and she was buried near her sister, Roberta Cardell Mayes, in the Mayes Plot.

Hi,

I found some other Johnson's immediately adjacent to Robert. They are probably family. Do you want those photos also?

Kimsey Memorials
Hi RrrrrGrrrr.

I noticed that we have duplicated four memorials for the Kimsey family. I had originally input them because I am loosely related to Halo Warman Kimsey. Her sister Helen Warman Skans married one of my cousins.

When I input the Kimsey memorials, I didn't know where their graves were located (Crestlawn). I see that you have done quite a bit of recording of Crestlawn graves.

Since I am not closely related, I would be glad to remove my memorials. However, you may want to add some of the additional information from them first.

Or if you wish, I can add the grave locations to my memorials and you could then remove yours. Either way is fine with me.

My duplicates are:
Vivian O Kimsey #94185297
Emma L Kimsey #94185741
Edgar V Kimsey #94000543
Halo W Kimsey #94000602

Please let me know which way you would like to handle this.

I'm sorry that I was not able to locate the grave.
Which record let you to the Black Jack cemetery?
The Black Jack Baptist church might have records.

There were quite a few unmarked graves and some with old sandstone headstones.
