Do you have a marriage date for John Jenkins and his second wife, Jane McGeorge?

And just a note. John and Elizabeth were not the parents of Mary Jenkins Arthur nor Sarah Jenkins Blake. Both Mary and Sarah were John's sister. They were the children of Amos Arthur and Jane?.

Mary Houston Billingsley
In reference to New Hope Methodist Cemetery burials, I have John Billingsley married to Poly Hale. My source is the Washington County, Tennessee, Marriage records. Their marriage license reads John Billingsley and Poly Hale, March 6, 1819. Married March 18, 1819. I don't know if John was ever married to a Mary Houston at any time, but it was not March 18, 1819. Do you have a different source?

I am trying to prove that William Evans is the father of Rev. Richard Evans. Can you give me proof? Was William Evans born in Wales? Who was his wife?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Rodney Holley
Matilda Jenkins Holley
Hello. First, thank you for all you have done with find a grave. My name is Rodney Holley. I live in Lincoln County, WV in a small place called Alkol. Matilda Holley was my great great grandmother. Her son Walter was my great grandfather. He did not belong to Joseph but took Josephs last name when he and Matilda were married. His real father was a Gwinn. Anyway, my question is about his middle name. We always thought his name was Walter William. I just didn't know where the Washington came from. His name was Walter but he went by "Tucker Holley" his entire life. His birth year is recorded as 1888 but he always said he was born in 1882 and his grandparents kept him hid because his mother had him so young. I don't know if this is true or not. The more I bury myself in genealogy the more I find that a lot of those old family stories just don't jive with written facts. There are a lot of colorful family stories as to why he changed his name to Tucker when he came to Lincoln County in 1909. I found out he got a 16 yr old girl pregnant and that's probably the real reason. I'm sorry to have went on like this I just love this stuff as I'm sure you do. I just wanted to know where you found the "Washington" name. Also Tucker/Walter died in 1971. He's buried at the Isaiah Hill Cemetery at Alkol. Thanks and again I apologize for the novel I've written. Rodney Holley 608 Bulger Rd Alkol WV 25501. 304-524-7803

Dear Bobbie,

You sponsored the grave memorial for my Great Great Grandfather John P Cook in Kentucky. Do you have a connection to him? Would love to hear from you when you get some time. I love the poetry you included. You are an inspiration.

So I noticed that you added information on William Evans and his Father Richard Evans. My question is around the dates. I see that William was born in 1802 and hi father Richard in 1751 which would only make Richard 11 when William was born. Is this correct? Thanks so much!

Kind regards,

Robert Evans

I know that there was no documentation regarding Manitha's parents, but my question was how do you know that she is the daughter of Isaac?

John Rogers
Susan Arthur Burgess
It appears I am related through Susan Burgess. I have traced my father's side back to Allen & Susan.
My dad is from Oak Hill, where there are a lot of Burgess and Rogers. He was unaware of any Jenkins relatives, but Susan was his Grandfather's Grandmother.
So, you went from Jenkins to Arthur back to Jenkins? But, I guess the Jenkins of your surname isn't linked to John Jenkins.
Thanks for the post. It has expanded my tree.

Isaac Cremeans,
Hi Bobbie,
I just saw a memorial that you created for your 3rd great grandfather, Isaac Cremeans. I saw that you have Menitha Cremeans listed as his daugthter. I'm wondering if this is Menitha Cremeans Jenkins and if so, do you have documentation that supports this? I'm trying to locate records to support who her parents were and I have a marriage record that says "B" and "J and there's some question as to whether she was the daughter of Burton and Jemima Cremeans. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks so much!!

RE: Distant Cousins?
Thanks for the reply. No doubt there are some connections there. Most descendants of the early Stockton Valley families are interrelated several times over. I was born in the section of Loudon County which was formed in 1870 from Roane. My mother was a Chaney and her mother was a Parker.
Take care,

I saw your name on many of my family's memorials and wondered if we are related. My family names include Johnson, Galyon, Parker, Miller, Culvahouse, Boggess and others. Most are in and around Roane and Loudon Counties in East Tennessee.
