RE: Thank you
It was no real problem Jim for I knew where it was right away and I went to decorate graves yesterday and took the photo. She was one of the wives of my Aunt Rose's husband, Frank, and her stone sits beside his. I was happy to help.

Thanks for the compliment. Those two were a challenge. The cemetery director told me that several years back it took several men and a machine to pull those up from the ground. Apparently they had sunk over a foot. Cheryl

You are so welcome. I suspect you are right about the relationship between the 2 families. Hope you find what you are looking for. Let me know if you do,please! I am working on this family for my stepson and grandchildren. It is his mother's family and William is her ancestor. Not good to only have one side of the tree!? If I find anything else I will let you know!

RE: William Bryant
Let me know if you have any luck. I am glad to help. I just can't post all of it here. If you have access to Ancestry privately, or at your library, you will find lots of info, including British census records. Check back on William's site and I will add some of the info there.

Hi Jim,

There is too much info for this posting. Here is the reference you need to find. It is online.

Jim,
Just took a look at my prior message to you and it appears kinda confusing. The census mentioned were all focused on Frances. Sorry for the confusion.

Bess Edith "Bessie" Watts Ward #57581932
Hi Jim,

Well, Santa has been good to you. This is the Bess you have been looking for. The notes on the memorials were taken from the burial cards at the cemetery. I fortunately still had them and a couple of other details.

The California Death Index lists Frances father and mothers names as Young and Birchard.

The 1940 census of Pacific Grove, CA shows Bess as the head of the house with her mother Frances Watts and son Leonard H. Ward and a female servant.

The 1930 census of Modesto, CA shows her as the wife of the head of the house Thomas Watts.

The 1920 census of Norwalk, Pottawattamie, Iowa shows her named as Frankie with her husband Thomas Watts and grandson Daryel Watts 7 years.

The 1910 census of Norwalk, Pottawattamie, Iowa shows her with husband Thomas Watts and daughter Bessie Watts 14 years.

I have updated and linked all the memorials I could. I hope this helps. Have a safe and very Merry Christmas.

Transfer made. Also noticed that a sister of hers was married to Mr. Kliegle -- was Minnie married to him also? I did link Minnie with him, but in the event it is a mistake, you might want to remove the spouse link. :)
