|Pamela Aune||RE: Catherine Callaghan Ford|
I think I'm ready for a reply re: Catherine Callaghan Ford. First of all, I would like to recommend a book which I just received this past week. "The Story of Holy Name of Mary Parish 1837-2012" by Carson Murphy. It can be gotten at lulu.com. I paid $37.71 which included shipping. If you're in Canada, that price may be more or less. It contains 500 pages about each of the families who settled in Tyendinaga, Ontario, Canada and includes extensive family trees and photos. The section on the Callaghans goes from pgs. 73-106. It is quite inclusive about each of the brothers, including Thomas. It has been speculated that, indeed, Catherine was the sister of these three men. They all were born about the same time and lived adjacent to each other on acreage in Tyendinaga. However, I do not know this for certain nor does the book claim to know this for certain- only speculates.
No, I do not know the names of the parents of these children. It is speculated in the book that the oldest son, Denis, stayed behind to care for their elderly parents and did not arrive in Tyendinaga until 1840, along with Catherine and her husband, Patrick Ford. Many others from Ovens, County Cork came at that time, too. No one supplied the names of the parents. I was asked their names with my correspondence to the author but could not supply him their names either. It remains a mystery.
In the Ford Family section, I sent in the information on Michael Ford, son of Catherine Callaghan and Patrick Ford, beginning on page 177 and continuing through page 179. Those are my photos included, as well. I found several typographical errors when my information was transcribed, including on the photo of Anastasia Ford on pg. 179. She is the tall young lady on the left. However, the book is compelling and rich with history and stories of the Irish settlers in Ontario. I highly recommend it.
I would be happy to assist you in anyway I can with family history. Thank you for your correspondence.

Hi, Friend! I just learned that Ancestry.com has acquired FindaGrave. What this means is not clear at this point, but the founders of this site have just made a tidy profit on the labors of love we've done here. This is in direct opposition to the info provided on the F.A.Q.s:
Does Find A Grave sell the data or photos I add to other websites?
No. We are categorically opposed to this type of behavior. [Top]
I'm very concerned about what happens now.

Due to recent shoulder surgery, I am unable to do the research you requested. ASAP I will look into this for you. One-fingered pecking is not easy plus trying to figure out the latest Family Tree Maker! I promise to check back with you later, Greg.

Hi Greg. A pleasure to hear from you. I have not completed a DNA testing. Ezekiel Crandall is a Revolutionary War Patriot I have proven lineage with the Daughters of the American Revolution through Albert Mumford Crandall. I do see that the DAR has listed Amy X as the 2nd of 4 wives of Ezekiel's, so there must be documentation through NSDAR proving that. Have you contacted them? http://www.dar.org/ There is some searchable data, with some Samuels listed. I do not know which is yours, but this link may help. Should I find something, I will get back to you.

Thanks for going out and trying to find his marker. I notified the site owner to add NO MARKER in the plot section to prevent future trips for it. Sorry.

Sorry he did not have a stone. But I did upload a couple photos of the general area of the plot to Regina's memorial that I created. That way you can get an idea what the area looks like. That's wonderful the office was able to help you out with the plot location, its a big cemetery back there! Take care!

Would you please delete the obit from the photo area? I have typed it and given you credit for it. Since there was no name of the newspaper or date I put a note to that effect. That way if a family comes along with photos they will have room. This also goes along with F-A-G guidelines. thanks!!!

I just fulfilled your photo request for Esther McKie and also took a photo of a Robert U McKie who is buried next to her. If you want me to upload his photo too, you can submit a photo request. If you do, please add a note to your photo request that Doug Vaughn already has the photo.

Thanks for the heads up regarding these memorials. The one thing we can do is update the spreadsheet that will be uploaded for online researchers. Aside from your memorial, have you been able to contact the Contributor that has Helen's memorial. Hopefully they will respond and update their memorial. If not, our work will stand as the corrected/accurate version.
Thanks once again!
