Yount Cemetery

I was just curious if you ever made it out to find the Yount Cemetery? I think of it every time I go past the old house (in ruins).

RE: Joseph Yount
You are more than welcome for the picture. I'm trying to remember where I took it. I think that it was about half way back and on the left hand side but I am not completley sure. My battery went dead on my camera today so I will be going back out there. When I do I will check to see exatly where it is.

I have sent you a map I made up to give you a better idea of where they lived and where the cemetery would be. It will come from my email address listed on here. Since the map is attached, it could go to your spam folder.

Yount Graveyard
I am sorry, as I stated in the description, the current condition of the graveyard is unknown.

All I know is that it was (is, although the condition is unknown) located on the left side of Devil's Hollow Road approximately 3/4 mile before the Hatton and Mt. Zion Roads intersection.

Asa Bennett
Good morning Janet. I wanted to let you know that I went out to the cemetery and my daughter took pictures of all the headstones and I think I have it right now as to who all are and in a sense through the Davis line we are very distant relatives. I would like to put a picture on a memorial page of the cemetery if you don't mind . I have connected all of the names in the plot and all are my family through Asa Bennett's 2nd marriage to Lucinda Dale and the Reuben Dale is her father and woodford is her brother and mary jane is a sister of hers and the one called Betsy Veech Davis is her sister Elizabeth Dale Veech Davis. Hope to talk and hear from you soon .

kind regards

Hello Janet
I didn't know if you knew or not but Asa Bennett's wife was a Lucinda Dale Stanely Bennett and the Dale in the cemetery is probably a relative of hers . I have done some research but so far I have not come across any Davis in either the Bennett or Dale family trees but there has to be a connection for them to be buried together in this small plot . Is there anyway I can get his memorial on my page also . As you can tell I am very new at Find A Grave. I did add flowers to his memorial .

Have a great weekend and hope to hear from you soon

King regards

RE: Asa Bennett
I was born and raised in Louisville but right now I live in clarksville , In, by the pro bass shop. I have been to Taylorsville years ago with a cousin but she lost interest in the family tree and stopped . Asa's daughter Mary L married into the Emmons and my mother 's mother was Nellie F. Emmons who father was Charles L Emmons and back to Asa . I know that there are 2 major families of Bennetts in Spencer county , I paid once to have the trees done but she didnt belong to my Bennetts. there are also Dale's in the family through Lucinda Dale Standley Bennett . I was hoping some one might have some pictures of my ancestors . I go into he genealogy chat room and a friend of mine who does Find A Grave said I should but its hard for me to do that since I am in a wheel chair but I joined to see if I could help in any way . I am glad I heard from you and I hope we can keep in touch. Is it okay with you if I print out Asa's headstone and who is in the plot . In the past i could never figure out where Elk Creek was but I do know Taylorsville and Shelbyville roads .

Thank you Janet for taking the time to answer my note I really appreciate it and thank you for posted a picture of my ggg grandfather's headstone.

Davis-Dale-Bennett Family Cemetery
We attempted to locate the Davis-Dale-Bennett Family Cemetery in Spencer County, KY that you had added entries and photos for, but the GPS coordinates listed on Find a Grave are in the middle of someone's yard in a well-developed neighborhood. Would you mind giving us directions to this cemetery, as the coordinates seem to be incorrect? Thanks!

James Sylvester "Jamie" Allen
Janet - I have just fulfilled your request for a photo for young Jamie's memorial page. Unfortunately, there was no gravestone found during the 1986 inscription survey nor the 2011 photographic survey of the cemetery. But the photo I added roughly shows the burial location in the family plot of Dr George Worden Davis.
Buried in the same unmarked grave are Leftrick A Allen and Ralph M Allen, who I presume are kin of Jamie's.
I have sent the creator of Jamie's memorial information about the youngster from the cemetery and mortuary records. Hopefully this information will be of interest to you.
If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

RE: Senator Bale
Did you see my note that his BIG tombstone is toppled over on its face? It is too big for Carolyn to turn it over. So sad, because since it is on its face, it is probably preserved very well. I didn't know he was a Senator.
