|Diana Davis-Marshall||John Harper memorial at Bunnell Cem.|
I've been working on this man's history. There must be more. I found his enlistment date/where/and his discharge date. I finally found his family listed on the 1900 Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana census! He was a minister there and had 10 children. I was able to locate a couple marriages of those children, but that is it. Apparently they all left Frankfort after he died.
And! you are researching the Goldsberry family???? My gr.gr.grandmother was Sarah Alice (Elizabeth)Goldsberry, her parents were Joseph and Elizabeth Sheets-Goldsberry. She married 3 x's that I've found: McLaughlin, Server, then Edwards...Clay and Greene Counties.
We need to get our heads together...I am something that might lead me to her. I cannot find her burial, but she died after the 1900 census in Greene Co.
I just wanted you to see his memorial page. If I could only find a picture of this man. If he pastored in Frankfort, there should be a photograph.
Thanks for your help!!! We did it!

Thank you for sharing, I too am a Winters. Josiah Paul and wife Ruth Lorene Hilliard Winters were my grandparents. So many of the family you have listed, just rung a bell for me and it sure did make me happy to be able to see some of their pictures.

Are you related to James Powell?

|Eva Hopkins||RE: James Powell #18547044|
According to James' two obituaries, he apparently was a Confederate soldier who came north with Morgan's Raiders in July 13-26, 1863. He shot a man named McClune and some of his family when a band of Yankee soldiers drove him northward. He became separated from his comrades and stayed in IN. The Kentucky Historical Society did not find him listed as having served in the Civil War from Kentucky. If he was in the Civil War, he deserted early.
James said he was a soldier in the 1847 Mexican War until peace and tried in 1888, 1895, 1909 and 1915 to get a pension. He did not receive one. Military records show a Pvt James Powell joined Oct 3 and mustered in Oct 5, 1847 into Co A, 3d Regt KY in Georgetown, Scott Co, KY and deserted camp near Louisville, KY on Oct 17, 1847. Organized by Capt John R Smith. (Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky. Mexican War Veterans, 1889.)

Thank you so much for the great photos of Egene and Carries last resting place. I appreciate them very much.
I hope you read the note under Eugeen's personal photo. A lady in Australia found it by accident, his name was on the back in full, she did a Google of his name, found me and sent the photo, what an amazing story and how in the world did his photo end up in Victoria, Australia?

|Bob Hollis||RE: Hollis tombstone|
Robert, I sent a similar request of the following message via email. If you are in the area again would you please take a picture of the side Dock's stone that has been defaced. As I remember it is the east side or the side toward the Highway. I think there is something that indicates that this is marker for a child; maybe a small lamb in front of this side of the stone??
The family story is that it was defaced to hide someones age, in the family???
