Norma Tyree
Dollie (Dolly) Tyree
FAGM # 59860612
Dollie (Dolly) Tyree was born April 2, 1886 in Rockcastle County KY to William and Martha Jane Luntsford (1900 census). She was the wife of William A Tyree who died in the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935;however, she survived and can be found in the 1940 census as head of household residing in North Miami Beach, Election Precinct 1, Dade County FL with her son William and his wife Florence, Dolly's daughter Louise and son Gerald. The United States Social Security Death Index registers her death as June 1976. The headstone appears to have sunk into the ground some---but if the soil were removed, it most likely would reflect this accurate date of death. For this one, you may want to review these cited documents and consider making changes which would reflect Dollie was not a victim of the storm.

I am a Tyree researcher and this family has intrigued me considering our roots are in KY and both our families migrated to FL where hurricanes are our worst natural disaster. There are variations of this lady's name and dates of birth. The monument erected in the Keys to honor those killed in the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 remembers her as Maziebell Tyree, daughter of William A Tyree who was also a victim. The Florida Death Records also records her death under the name of Maziebell Tyree. Her headstone bears the name of Eva Mayzell Tyree. At one point, I even discovered something suggesting the person was a male named Mazell! I do not have any documentation to validate name or date of birth, however, I am tending to believe she is most likely Maziebell born 1921 rather than 1881. Not asking that you change anything but it may be helpful to others if a notation is made stating there are conflicting records.

I realize with over 13,000 memorial it might be hard to keep up with but I would appreciate you adding his father #119210101 and mother #119210060, so the family can be connected. If you don't have the time would you consider a transfer, this is my grandfather! Thank You, Sylvia

Banner Mccowen
Banner Mccowen [Find A Grave Memorial# 57752150]

Banner Mccowen and his wife, Selma, lived most of their lives in Live Oak County, Texas. I knew them. They had no children. I created a memorial for his wife who is buried next to him. Her death date is not on the gravestone but she is buried there. She died before Banner.

I am not next of kin but I am probably the closest person who knew Banner Mccowen and who works on Findagrave. He had no ties to Florida except in his extreme old age.

For this reason, I would like to manage his memorial. I know it is not required that you transfer this memorial. However, I will add more data about Bannar and write his biography. I have a partial autobiography of Bannar in my files.

Your fellow Findagraver,
Philip Hudson (#48192248)

Edits on the Find a Grave system
On your personal findagrave home page there is an edit tab at the top of the page. If you click that tab you should see where I have entered the plot numbers and you can choose to accept or reject any corrections all at one time which makes it easier. This was new to me a couple of months ago. It might be new or I just didn't see it. Unfortunately you do not get any email notice that corrections are there other than a number showing up next to the edit on the tab. You just have to know to check it every now and then.
