Hi Joyce,

I saw where you had posted flowers on my great-grandmother Calla Jane Maxwell Furnish memorial that we share the same great-grandparents. Ludlow Maxwell and Delilah Marshall are my great-great-grandparents. Who are you related to in this family line? I would love to learn more about them.

Your distant cousin from Texas, Dixie

Bill Garrett
Fulton Cemetery
From Hays County Historical Commision.
http://www.hayshistoricalcommission.com/cemeteries/History(A-F).php
FULTON CEMETERY
Fulton Cemetery, located just out of Wimberley near Jacob's Well, can no longer be found. Present day residents, including the old-timers of Wimberley, do not know of its existence; however, the burial of two Civil War veterans in this cemetery are recorded in the Tula Townsend Wyatt Collection at the San Marcos Public Library. They are: Antonio Duran and J.B. Fulton. It is recorded that their graves bear no inscriptions. The cemetery was recorded as being close to Jacob's Well, as were two other Cemeteries, which we discovered were actually closer to Dripping Springs than to Jacob's well.

Thanks to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative who allowed us to look through their maps of that area and whose employees offered to keep a lookout for this lost cemetery.

In early 1994 we found a cemetery located on the Campbell Ranch off Hays County Rd 219, which has two headstones with no inscriptions. We believe this to be the Fulton Cemetery but have not yet proven it to be.

Sad news that these men are fading in time. Send me anything in Texas hill country, San antonio to Austin. Especially now the bluebonnets are in bloom

Martha E Fornash McMillian
Dixie, I'm sorry but I do not link any of my family or memorials to a parents, without proof o that the info on the memorial I am linking them to is correct. I don't see any kind of proof on Thomas Fornash' memorial, like his birth or death date. Nor do I list any family member on find a gave with a birth and death date, without proof.

I've done a lot of research on the family of Thomas Fornash, using different spelling for the surname, as many others have others, no one has come up with a birth or death date for Thomas, nor where he died.

God Bless

RE: Maxwell, William amd Rebecca
Wow. Someone finally moved Rebecca to the correct cemetery!! Both William and Rebecca are buried in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, and someone placed them in Centerville Cemetery. I don't think I realized that they were in Centerville when I first posted them, but that person placed a lot of them in Centerville who should have been in Sugar Creek. Oh well -- thanks for telling me!
Blessings, and have a wonderful Christmas!

RE: James Thomas Furnish
So glad I could help !! I was really disappointed there wasn't more. Back then the newspapers just didn't print a lot of death information, other than that they died, and what day. At least we could pin point that for you !! And I didn't find anything on Angelina's death at all. Seems strange. I am keeping their names on my active list, and maybe I will run across something down the road. If I do, I will let you know.

Have a very Merry Christmas,
Paula

Hey Dixie . . .

Well, I found what I think may be your James Thomas Furnish, but it isn't much help:

******************************************

DEATH NOTICE: Brown County World - Friday, March 14, 1890

James Furnish, a farmer living 2 miles northwest of Morrill, died Monday night.

***************************************

This is all it said, so I am still not sure where he is buried, or if this is your James. Let me know what you think . . .

RE: James Thomas Furnish
Hey Dixie . . .

I made myself a note to look for the Furnish family obits next trip to the library. Since you know the year of death, maybe there was something in the paper when James Thomas died. Back then, it was kinda hit and miss, but worth looking at. Will let you know what I find.

James Thomas Furnish
Hi Dixie . . .

I have a copy of the sexton's book for Morrill Cemetery, and there are only the five "Furnish" burials listed. I have photographed and posted all that are there. I can tell you that the "Thomas Furnish" that is listed is buried in the same block and plot as Angelina. That is why their stones are in the overview photo together. The other three are in the same block, but in a different plot. Don't know if this is of any help, but that is all the info I have at this time.

Happy Holidays,
Paula

RE: Alva and Minnie Smith
You are welcome! While I was there, I snapped photos of 50 - 60 other gravestones nearby (including many Smiths), so if you are looking for some of their relatives, there's a good possibility that I got them. I am somewhat bogged down right now with a major remodeling project, so I am not taking the time to edit and load all of them, but if you are looking for someone in particular, let me know & I'll see if I have them.
