|Clinton Slayton||>> A pet peeve is misspelling "William".|
This is of course a font issue, it is extremely difficult to see lower-case ells and eyes when there are too many, whereas two few are a bit easier to make out.
It may occur in the future that these letters will be changed in shape to overcome what will continue into the age of "texting." It cannot come too soon for me, I have to filter my one Ancestral Quest database to catch the ones that I have unintentionally created.

I sent an EDIT to marry them, her will is online and clearly states that Luther was her husb who predeceased her. Thanks for any attention you can give to this.

In Earlham Cemetery, Indiana. I have submitted a correction to you for her birthday. The date is from her SSDI form and has a different year than what is on the stone (1898 versus 1899). Not sure which you want on the memorial, but just thought I'd let you know.

|Delna Powell||Transfer Memorial|
Please transfer memorial 73885554 to me so I can remove parents, siblings and Children and correct birth date and husband link. The husband of this memorial is Alfred P. Jones who is buried in the same cemetery.
The memorial is mixed up between memorial 152224678 which is our family. Memorial 738855554 has a correct death date and burial place, but the birth date is for memorial 152224678. The husband of memorial 152224678 is Noah Jones memorial 152224760.
I appreciate your help in correction this memorial.

Re: Samuel Gravatt #123125809
Hello William - Well, let me go through what I have found. When John Gravatt & his brother Samuel enlisted in the Civil War in the G 19 Ohio Infantry, both enlisted under the alias “Cravatt”. As many around them did, I suppose it was John, the older, wiser, brother, who wanted to make sure they had a “backdoor” out of their situation, if needed. Neither were paid by an Recruiter to fight in place of anyone else. When John died, his mother Susan Runyan Gravatt filed for mother’s pension. On John’s Pension File card, it clearly indicates Cravatt as an alias. (that person had very good handwriting)
As for Samuel, on his Pension Card, the alias is not indicated but the Widow’s name is Nettie M. Gravatt not Cravatt. Those first letters are different. The person writing this card was not as careful. I have Samuel’s Civil War file and there are several depositions testifying to the alias, his medical discharge (half his foot was torn off by a chain on a railroad car ) and Invalid Pension, Nettie’s maiden name (Graham), former husband & divorce and eventually a Widow’s Pension.
On his daughter’s Social Security Applications & Claims, Laura lists her father as Samuel Gravatt & mother Nettie M. Graham. The same is indicated on her death certificate though I have to say, the correctness of any death certificate information is considered 2nd of even 3d hand info so you really never know how accurate the info is.
As for Samuel’s death certificate, Samuel’s son Clyde is supplying the info. Samuel’s father was not Ephriam Cravatt but there may have been a reason that Clyde did this. The burial would have been paid for by the Govt - perhaps he thought they needed to have Cravatt on this document in his mind for financial reasons. Why hire a lawyer if you don’t have to. We’ll never know for sure but that would be my guessestimate. And the Maiden name of Samuel’s mother was Susan Runyan, not Ruynan - this was a typo of the Undertaker. Note: Runyan was another family name that different spellings were many. Samuel’s sister Caroline married a Lester/Luster Runyan.
This is my thoughts William. When people connected to the Gravatts try to find Samuel Gravatt, they will not find him if he’s listed under his alias Cravatt. People wouldn’t know about this. To me, it just seems like a good idea to list him under his given name and explain the alias in the Bio and connect him to his children. It would make it easier to find his family history. It’s sad about his sons (there was a lot of sadness during those times) but his daughter had a strong & vibrant line. Thank you for your time William. You’re doing wonderful work!

I put up John Frazier's headstone picture (#122961859) and it is spelled "Frazier." I noticed there are two other names on his stone. So I will check to see if they have a photo or not. Thanks again for your careful work on the edits as I know we are sending you a lot. Both you and I want them to be accurate so I appreciate the questions when you have them. Have an enjoyable day- David (#47319474)

I may come back to you on this if I can't find any other information that confirms where and when different individuals were buried. I appreciate you help on these!!
Knowing who is listed on the same stone or buried next to a person in question would be very helpful.
