RE: Shadley
I check my records and found the information I was using came from my wife's uncle Norman and he passed away a few years ago. I did not find a death certificate, he must had one because he had the death date and I assume it had the cemetery recorded. Or he may assume that since he died in Guide Rock, Webster County, Nebraska that he is buried there. Sorry. Do you want me to pull that Frank Shadley being buried in Guide Rock Cemetery?

Find A Grave Changes
A friend told me about this change a couple days after this was deployed. I have sent an edit/s to you so I thought maybe you didn't know about it. You might want to pass it on to your friends. thanks!!! ~Peggy

New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"

******Please Note******
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.

Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If you don't approve within 21 days it will automatically accept it.

You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.

RE: Crow
Dear Char,

I am totally confused as to who Roscoe D. CROW is. I know that he wasn't a child of Joe and Nellie TOPHAM CROW and I can't find him belonging to any of Joe's male siblings either.

All of my CROW research is based on census reports, genealogies that have been shared by others, and various state and federal records. If you know anything regarding Roscoe, I would be interested. I was under the assumption that space 8 in the CROW Family Lot was unoccupied. City records show that Joe Crow purchased the half-lot which contained four burial spaces at the time of Rollie's death in 1916.

It almost makes me wonder if someone confused the name Roland with Roscoe. However, I still don't understand the dates given for Roscoe's birth and death. Since Nebraska started recording deaths before the date given for his death, a death certificate should exist for him.

Thank you!

RE: Crow
Dear Char,
I'm not sure if I am addressing the correct CROW family that you speak of or not.

Rollie was the 15 year old son of Joseph and Nellie TOPHAM CROW. He was killed in a horse accident when he was returning with the team he was working the fields with back to the barn. A storm was ensuing and this caused the horses to behave wildly. Horses that were used to work on a farm were huge, many times weighing close to 2,000 lbs. and being 16 hands high. Great teams were the pride and joy of many a farmer and over the years, Joe CROW won many awards with his teams.

Needless to say, Rollie's death was a blow to all. My grandmother, Gertrude and he were about the same age. She loved him dearly and always cherished the photo she had of him as a little boy. I am now the proud possessor of it. At the time of his death, Rollie was a student at the Red Cloud High School. His obit talked of how well he was thought of by his fellow students, professors, and others. His siblings were Clark, Lloyd, and Maude who married Frank McINTOSH.

Are you a CROW family relative? Nellie is my great-great aunt. I don't know that I have photos of Joe and Nellie together, but I do have a photo of Nellie in young womanhood and one I spoke of earlier of Rollie.

I hope this has been beneficial to you.

Dona (Carr) Mooring
RE: Annie Laurie Quarles
Annie Laurie Quarles is twin to Viola Fay Quarles Huffman. I received my information from daughter of Viola (Betty Henning) who recently died. I took a look at the other children who died and find that Betty didn't give me a burial location for any of the other stillbirths, if you check in with the County and cannot find where any of the children of this family are buried, I'd be glad to change it to burial unknown.

There is a long list of stillbirths for this family.

Your Sister in Christ,
Dona Carr Mooring

RE: Mabelle R. Clinkinbeard

I'm sure it is frustrating but as far as I know, I can't remove it since I didn't put it there. Don't worry about it, it's okay, but keep trying. If I must, I'll put a message in the flowers section that Mabelle is not a relative. Maybe you'll have to contact Find A Grave to see what you need to do.

Here's my home address, you can let me know what you find out or if you've fixed it.

I see you have Merrill's in your line I also have three of those married into my line.
Arthur Lambert Merrill married Rose Elizabeth Rice and they had two children William Pittman Merrill and Eugenia Roberta Merrill.
Don't suppose their is any connection.

RE: Betty Sharp
Reply I got from a cousin who had posted that Memorial:

Sharon Sharp, Betty’s daughter, told me that Betty is buried in the Guide Rock Cemetery, but she didn’t say if she had been cremated, which may have been done. Sharon is my first cousin, and I think what she said is true. Betty’s obituary was in the Superior Express on December 18, 1996, and it was burial was in the Guide Rock Cemetery and that Simonson-Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud was in charge of the arrangements. Betty’s grave is not marked.

I do not know who said that Doug had her cremated and took her ashes with him. They were not that close, and I doubt that story. Doug lived in Nebraska, not Colorado, so I doubt this story is true.

I hope this provides the information you wanted.
