Bluebelle...saw the photo of the 1900 Mandolin Club. I have that same photo as Charles Matt Ritchie was my Great Grandfather! What I didn't know was the name of the group. Thank you for posting this photo here. (I have shared it with the Granite City Chronicles also)

|Etta McCoy||Thank you.|
Dear bluebell, I appreciate all your hard work. Today I viewed your site and found out that several of my relatives had died unbeknownst to me. One question: May we add more that one photo? Thanks again!

|PHH||Edna Korf Weis|
I could not imagine how I missed Edna's marker the first time I went out to Hillcrest but now I know. The lay out of Edna's plot is a little unusual. On the north side of the above ground marker is the name Korf. There are three plots, from left to right, Edna Korf Weis, Harry Korf and Goldie Turner Korf are buried. Om the South side of the same marker is the name Weis. There are three plots, from left to right, Sidney Weis, Frederick Weis and Cora Weis Hill are buried. Do you know what Cora's relation is? I was surprised to learn that Albert Weis is the son of Edna and Fred. I knew Albert, he is buried in Hillcrest also. A friend of mine worked closely with their family.

I found Edna. Her stone was covered with grass the other day when I first took pictures in that section. We have had so much rain here the grass is growing like crazy. Phil

I do not remember but I would have taken it and posted it if it was there because I did everyone in that area. It could have been covered with grass, that area has alot of over grown stones. I will look, next time I am out there. Phil

No darlin' go right ahead and post 'em. I care not for "credit". I am doing this because I love it. Do whatever you wish with them!! And maybe if you can get pics for someone in your area, we can get a "Pay It Forward" movement going!

It occurred to me that you might want an additional picture that shows more of the area where the graves are located. If so, let me know and I will get that the next time I'm out there. I did add an aerial photo to Elmer's memorial that shows where block 19 is located in the cemetery. Their graves are a little to the left of the "19" as you view it. Feel free to move the picture or delete it.

It was a beautiful day (finally), and I had no trouble finding the graves this time. I always use talc to hi-lite the lettering (it will wash away when it rains tomorrow). Otherwise, you would not be able to read what it says.

Please don't worry about it. I was out there anyway to take pics for another request. I'll be happy to go back to get yours. :>)

No reason to be sorry - you couldn't have known. Flora's grave is also unmarked.
Just a few little pieces of info:
Charles was buried on Dec 21, 1943
Flora's grave is listed under Belle and she was buried on Feb 24, 1929.
Flora's plot is listed as Section 7, Block 2, Grave 29.
Charles is located near the front of the cemetery, while Flora is located towards the back part of the cemetery.
Wish I could have found the markers for you.
