RE: Jesse Mitchell
I am Ezra's Great grand daughter. My mother was Billie Jean Fincher and she was Ezra and Ellen's daughter. I put everything I can on my tree----Krumm Fincher tree. It has been hard locating anyone from that side of the family. So glad to hear I have a cousin out there :) I remember a picture of a lady hanging in the guest bedroom at Ezra's and Ellen's house and my other cousins have no idea who she was and I have no idea who she was or who even has it now. Pictures have been hard to come by. I am planning on a trip to Georgia in March to try to locate some more information. I am working on my Colonial Dames of the XVII Century application- through Francis Fincher and my DAR through Jesse's son Hilliard who married Sarah Elizabeth Carmichael. (That was the pair that were cousins). What ever information you might need that I have I am more than willing to share.

I am wondering if you have had any luck in finding where Jesse Mitchell Fincher might be buried. He is son of Joseph and Lucinda Fincher. I am kin through his son Hilliard Marion Fincher son of Jesse (JM) and Sarah Elizabeth Everett. He was in the CSA and spent time as a POW at Camp Douglas.Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

RE: Sarah Strickland
Hi Nancy,

I am a Strickland descendant (through my great-great grandmother - Cora Strickland Gregory of Delaware County, NY). I was curious to see if there might be a connection through this line, but it would have to be a very distant one (back in England). Anyhow, I'm glad to have helped you!

Catherine Ford Brown
Lyon Family
Are you related to the Lyon family: Harold, Dorothy Goddard Lyon, Parrie King Lyon, George O Lyon? I see that you manage their memorials and were wondering if you would be interested in transferring to me? My brother married into that family and I grew up knowing this family and all the children. If so, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to manage them. Thanks for your consideration and all you have done.

Dwight Baker
RE: Baker's in Georgia
I have not found a burial for Joshua yet. I found him as a brother to Elias Baker, whose family is the subject of the book Baker Families along the GAARTX trail. The author did not go above Elias but when I started getting my DNA blood cousins documented, I found several they were linked with several documented history of their service in the Revolutionary War and how they moved to GA. A lot of the family then went to AR and then on to TX. Some bypassed AR and some went on other paths. The bottom line is that any male of a direct line of either Beal or Elias would have the same DNA as me. I cannot make my own connection up to Maurice but I have found a direct line from Beal and Elias there. That is why I was curious if any of your relatives were DNA tested to further prove the link. I have a test from a descendant of Beal and one to Alexander Sandy be but he connects to another brother of Beal and Elias. My email is on my profile if you want me to send some files showing this.

Please DO NOT send corrections.additions on message board. Use edit button at top right of memorial-it's so much easier that way. Thanks

RE: Baker
Hi Nancy, how wonderful to meet you! I have my Grandmother's Book (she was the one who started reseacing) And I see that Martha Tabitha (Patsy) Baker was the daughter of Joshua Baker and Mary (Polly) Parks Baker. Martha was born Oct. 15 1816 and died June 2, 1901.
She was buried in the St. Paul's Methodist Church Cemetery located just over the Hall County line ofn the Dahlonega Hwy. in Lumpkin County. Martha was the Granddaughter of Bill Baker, a veteran of the Revolution who was buried in the D.A.R. Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville Ga.

That was what my Grandmother Mamie Stephens Smith had written about Martha, so I would say to check those 2 cemeteries first.

Are you on I have lots of folks on there mostly Stephens, that is all I know about the Bakers, but you never know if a leaf will pop up on the site.

It's always nice to meet a new cousin!

RE: Transfers
I notice in your request that you did not use the send a correction link. That link makes it a lot easier to do the transfer. That has been the main delay, as I have not had time to look up your many transfer requests.

If you can send it to me that way, I will be able to get to it sooner.

Thanks again,

Diana Satterfield

I am sorry for the delay in transfers. I am way behind due to 2 new grandbabies, retired, sold my house and am in the process of moving, and now I have jury duty until August 30th.

I promise I will get to them sometime :)

RE: Lyon in MacedoniaB, C, Cemetery and Lyons in Rock Spring P.B.C. Cemetery
Hi again.
Well, I ran through all the ones I put on at Rock Springs, luckily there was only about two dozen, and compared them to Macedonia. I found 7 besides the ones you have and deleted them already. I have extra data on all four of yours, so if you like you can copy that data and let me know and I will delete them.
Thanks for letting me know.

RE: Lyon in MacedoniaB, C, Cemetery and Lyons in Rock Spring P.B.C. Cemetery
Wow. I can only guess what happened. Macedonia and Rock Springs 2 years apart. I used three chips in two cameras and delete as I upload. The only thing I can think of is that the chip did not completely erase them and when I took the second set of photos they showed up. The only thing I can think of is to just delete them.
What are your thoughts?
Regards, Bud

Only a note, we travel thru there often, from Florida to Winder, Georgia. Always stop at the Dairy Queen for breakfast. They have the best Country Ham and Biscuits.

Any time you would like to find out what a member has just put the name, whole name or just surname, in the box on his home 'bio' page.
Neat eh?
Have fun, I sure have.
Best regards, Bud

They are now in your caring hands.
It is a lot easier when you find info for them to have them in your control so you do not have to wait for a response from others.

Karl Blackstock
RE: Rev. Wilson Newton Blackstock
Hi Nancy,
It is great to know another relative. One of these days I'm going to search out this grave up in at Haw Creek Baptist Church and also William Blackstock's grave in Cumming.

William Hardy Blackstock was a brother to my GG Grandfather Newton Leviggor "Pat" Blackstock. His son, Carl Otis was my Great Grandfather.

My Blackstock Descendancy comes from William Berry Blackstock (owner of the Blackstock Plantation in SC where the Revolutionary Battle of the Blackstock's was fought. His son James then William and then Rev. Wilson Newton. If you are a bit interested in genealogy, the Helen Womack book is an excellent resource for Blackstock's and Billy Frank Blackstock's website for Blackstock family tree information is a good one. Regardless. if you know of any old stories about Blackstock's-Stricklands, etc., it would be nice to know.

Hi Nancy,

You are more than welcome! I'd also added a memorial for Ceils' husband (M.Allene) and would be happy to transfer him to you for management, if you wish.

Please let me know if there is anyone further I can help you locate/document.
