Jasc Paint Shop Pro, you can do ANYTHING to pictures with it. In fact virtually all the pictures I post have been lightened, darkened, sharpened, straightened, cropped or whatever's needed to make them readable & better-looking. I also "clean up" pictures that way, removing overgrown grass that has strayed unto the stones' inscriptions or bird deposits. I love that program & I use it to scan documents that I need to fill out so I can type the information perfectly, (I impressed my dermatologist greatly when he saw the records I filled out!)

I checked my notes from the phone call, I think the Laura "C" was a mistake/typo? There wasn't any initial given to me for Laura. I'm glad you asked & I apologize most sincerely for the mistake, Dan!

Good news! I called the cemetery & they have the following Shadles buried in the same lot together:
Newton J. D-7-1
Laura C. D-7-2
Ervan H. D-7-3 I already claimed him
Blanche Laura D-7-4
Would you please enter memorials & requests for the others so I can claim them too? If you would put in the note section of the request that Nancy/catsaver is getting the photos, that would be very helpful. Thanks Dan!

Hi, I fulfilled your request for the 6 Kennan's buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico, MO. If you are related to the Kennan's, the gal who added the memorial pages for them would be happy to transfer them to you so you could add info. She added a bunch of memorials at Elmwood, with no info. She has transfer several to me so I could add info and link families and I was not related to them... If you get the transfers and want to
add their location in the cemetery, they are
buried in Section I Plot 15...

You are welcome. I only wish I could have been more help. So much history is lost when these headstones are weathered so badly and can no longer be read. If you need any more pictures from this area, let me know and I will see what I can do. Good luck with your future research.

I stopped out there today. I was able to find Sarah Melton and John McKay. I posted those pictures. However, I was not able to find W. Melton or Frances McKay. I also looked for the other photo requests for this cemetery and could not find any of them. This is a very old cemetery and several headstones are weathered past the point of being able to read them. Also, some headstones have been broken and are missing. It is not a large cemetery, so I checked every headstone I could read. Maybe someone else will have better luck than me. I am by no means a professional at this. Good luck!!!

I just posted a picture for Mr. Kennan. The reason I'm writing is there is a little girl's grave between Joseph and Mulhulda. Her name was Mulhulda Parsons, born and died in 1882. She may be related, especially with the first name the same as Mrs. Kennan. Maybe a granddaughter? Thought you might like to know. There is a memorial and a picture of her stone.
