No it isn't...don't know who wrote the poem....it struck a chord with me when I read it...I so wish I could have met all the family that I find and could have had a while to talk to them...

Disregard Edit Request
Mike,

You may want to disregard the name edit request I sent for Florence Alice Cross Find A Grave# 119209481, the tombstone says Alice F Cross so I assumed it correct but after finding two infants tombstones that lists parents as AV and FA Cross. The FA has to stand for Florence Alice so I think her tombstone is incorrect in reading Alice F Cross. Your judgment call sir but with the children's stones saying F.A. as mother I assume it is suppose to be Florence Alice Cross

RE: Pritchard family Cemetery Pix
Mike, I do have to say, this was not one of the easiest cemeteries to get to by no means. I would rank it as the second hardest so far to get too that I have done so far LOL. As far as being damaged or destroyed by equipment, that will not happen. Someone recently has gone to the cemetery and put up metal fencing posts all around the cemetery and surrounded it by chain to identify it. Also, this cemetery sets on what is the old, full and unused section of the landfill so this side has been abandonded. The landfill is approx 1000 acres and as of right now, it is only a transfer station meaning that no trash is actually left here, it all gets shipped out however, there has been talk of opening it back up and making a regional landfill out of the unused part but that sections sets way over on the oposite side of the site well away from the cemetery. Another thing in the cemeteries favor is that it sets within sight of the Deep River and I do not think they are allowed anymore to put trash that close to a water way so again the area of the cemetery should be safe. To get to the cemetery from with in the landfill is about a 1 mile walk back into the woods.

She's in your care, Mike. Thank you for the kind words. I have received 8 messages from a very uncomplimentary person to remove her sister from find a grave via my e-mail. Called me some really nasty names even to the point of threatening. So needless to say, your message was like a breath of fresh air. I just can't understand some people. I love adding to find a grave and helping people find lost relatives. On a lighter note, I'm not related as far as I know to any of the Crosses, unless one is hanging from a tree branch out of sight.

Best regards,
Mary

This has happened to me before also...I think we hold down on the enter button too long...but...then I usually blame it on a blonde moment...I can do that since I'm a blonde...although it's got more grey in it now. Mary

RE: LH Cemetery Maps
I am sorry to hear about your foot and pray for you to get back up on both feet because we miss you.

Wow! Is this a map you are putting together or is this at the Lynn Haven Building Department? Are you mapping Lynn Haven Cemetery?

I am trying to locate Smith, Patricia Mercer, b. Sep 18, 1952 d. Mar 15, 1993 "married Sept 24, 1970, Mother of Amanda, Tracey, Sharon, w/o Tom Smith" All places I have looked do have her listed at Lynn Haven Cemetery but Lynn Haven Bldg. Dept. does not show her listed. Patricia Smith had a daughter but she died in 1971 (name: Smith, Sharon Lynn, b. Jan 26, 1971 d. Jan 27, 1971, "d/o Patricia Mercer Smith"

In your records, do you have them listed? If so, I would be more than happy to go to the cemetery and take the photo if I had some kind of guidance.

Your help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Susan

Hey Mike,
I have read on a couple of volunteer photo requests that you have the Lynn Haven City Cemetery Official plats up to date as of June 2011. Would you mind sharing this document with me? Do you have the map of cemetery too? I have spoke with Lynn Haven Bldg. Dept. to locate a couple of graves myself for our customers as well as being a volunteer like yourself. Any knowledge on this cemetery would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all you do!

Mike, LOLOL, I appreciate that the gentlemanly thing was #1, and I appreciate your deference, but it would be fine if you had taken the pic, I am happy to defer to you. I know the family is waiting for it, and I really hate to keep them waiting. I had started at the beginning again, from the Balboa Ave.gate, determined to find Mr. H. I know I have seen it before, but it dang sure has eluded me in my search. I hope to find him today. I will look today, and tomorrow if necessary, and after that, to not keep the family waiting, it would be great if you could take it, and get it on to them. If you can't, I will, of course, continue looking. You take care of your foot. Thank you again for your help, gentlemanly, or otherwise, I really do appreciate it.....Patricia

RE: Cutchens
Hello again Mike,
Thanks for the photo you posted of Whitt Alexander Cutchens' grave marker. When you return to the cemetery, if you find Pennie Ellen Cutchens, please make a mental note of where she's buried. I don't have any way to tell if she was the child of Joe L. and his wife Annie, or if she was a child of Whitt and his wife Geraldine. All 5 are buried there at Lynn Haven. I figure she likely belonged to the ones she is buried nearest to.

Thanks for your work!!!!
Trish

RE: Cutchens
Hi Mike,

I've seen the Cutchens name SEVERAL different ways, including: Cutchen, Cutchens, Kutchin, Kutchins, Kitchen, Kitchens, Cutchin and Cutchins. Some individuals in this family have differing records across their lives. I usually go with whatever name they ended up with, on their gravesite.

I still don't know what is correct. Some of the family is buried under one spelling, and some under another. It must be a name in flux, changing with each member who likes it a certain way, or changing because of illiteracy and language differences over the years. (My own family name changed a lot until my father's generation consolidated it to what it is today.)

I appreciate whatever you find, and don't worry too much about it if you can't get anything. I understand how much trouble it can be. THANKS for trying!!

Trish
