RE: J Pearl German
I see the other memorial. These two cemeteries are adjacent each other. The contributor has several memorials in Mt Hope that are actually in Quindaro. I will go out and find the stone & determine which cemetery they are marked in. I will also see if I can confirm burial. Kim

RE: J Pearl German
Chris - I believe this was from a stone found although I normally would have added the photo or she shares a stone with another (although she's the only German in the cemetery). We are working on the cemetery and I have not yet confirmed burial, but is still on my long 'to do' list. Since this is an older cemetery and not many actual records, I went ahead & put the memorial up so as not to 'lose' it. What other record did you find? Perhaps I can dig a bit & find our answer. Kim

Chris, thanks so much for your note about E Betsy Brown. No, we have not exchanged information previously but I am happy to do so. I have done as much research on my German line as I can with what is on internet, I think. I have attempted to link as much as possible on Find a Grave. My data is a bit inaccessible at the moment as I'm trying to break in a new is trying to break me in and it is winning. Happy to share and compare if you wish, Chris. I am in Kitchener, Ont. Where are you?

RE: Harriet Elizabeth Giles
Sorry for the confusion. Her picture appeared in the Atlanta Constitution in the same issue as her obituary, but not on the same page. I went ahead and posted the obituary on her memorial for you, and the source is written in the captions (seen when you enlarge the picture and scroll down). Hope it's what you wanted. Those are the best copies I can get.

RE: George & Terissa Taylor.
Hi Chris, You're welcome, I enjoyed the walk and got a little exercise out of it.
There is no office at the cemetery. I did see some graves for folks who died in the 1990's and a few after 2000. While it is very rustic as in no grass or lawns, I did see trash cans that must get emptied by someone.
I couldn't find a phone number, but I found online that the cemetery is maintained by The Cherokee Heritage and Museum Association. I'd try writing them at:
James Lenhoff
The Cherokee Heritage and Museum Association
1084 Montgomery St
Oroville, CA 95965

I also found a video at "Exploring Oroville Cherokee Cemetery" that will give you a feel for the place.

If there's anything else that I can do for you, feel free to ask.

According to the county records and the Butte historian, they are buried there - but they must be in unmarked grave or their marker may have fallen by now.

Thank you so much for taking a look, and I am sorry that you made the trip, but couldn't find it. Your effort is appreciated!

Do you know if their is a phone number for some authority of that cemetery, or is it abandoned now?

George & Terissa Taylor.
Today I read every headstone in the Cherokee Cemetery, Cherokee, Butte Co, CA and was unable to find either George Taylor or his wife Terissa. The only Taylor in the cemetery (with a headstone) is: James O. Taylor, US Navy World War 2, Oct 7 1918 - Nov 13 2003. There are a lot of areas in the old part of the cemetery where I assume people are buried, but there are no longer any headstones. Sorry that I couldn't help.

RE: Magnolia Park
Chris, greetings! Funny you should mention the pumice stone thing. Ernie, a caretaker at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Corona, gave me a demonstration last Thursday when i was there. I now have one in my graver bag! Unfortunately, in the Feketi situation, the marker is very pock marked and eroding away from the water and elements. I just have to photograph it at a better time of day when the sun is lower on the horizon, not directly overhead. Thanx again though.

I have experienced the 'rudeness' of which you speak - silly for people to do the 'numbers' thing. Other's won't remove a duplicate. I thought this was a community, and I guess I'm just community-minded! (Yes, I'm nice, too... as you are).
I'll get those others added. HOWEVER - IF I MAKE AN ERROR, please CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY to remove a dupe. I'll be careful....
Just an FYI - I have a gggrandmother whose death cert said 'Pearl Street Cemetery' (NJ) and then they buried her at Broad Street, instead - a totally different cem. Remember, when people are in grief, they often mis-speak or just 'make a guess'. My own sibling gave my Mom's BROTHER as her FATHER on her recent passing... which we corrected, of course - but he was in such shock. Happens all the time.
So yes, check, and double-check. I think the church still exists. You may want to contact them and find out if the Cemetery Association for the church knows, or has records. Those recs could have changed. You never know.

Warm regards. Thanks for being a caring 'fellow member.' I would surely transfer anything anyone asks for unless it happens to be an extra-near relative (like my grandparents!)

North New Salem
Chris, I'm nowhere near there. I was looking for GUILFORD family in Danvers or New Salem, and came across that link. Glad you already have it... so I started deliberating about adding the rest of the names from that cemetery and others I found on that link, and thought maybe YOU might have other relatives there that you'd want to upload and manage on your own, first.

It saddens me that there are SO many grave records out there and folks only add part of the cemetery - so I sometimes archive what I find so that at some point I can add them in. But didn't want to cross paths with records that are already there.

Happy hunting!

North New Salem Cemetery
Hi, Chris! I've found a list of interments at North New Salem Cemetery here. I do not see Mary Burt anywhere on the list, nor the Seth Andrews with the dates you've stated. The list is located here, should you care to check it. (That DOES not mean that YOUR information is incorrect, just wanted to help you verify.)
There are quite a few interments missing from this cemetery, so wanted you to have this reference in case there are other family members for you there.

Warm regards, Victoria Camp
