Reference your question
"Do you know which unit he was in?"
I did not place the flag on the gravesite.
I live in Texas and have not been to this cemetery.
The photograph showing the flag was taken by Keith Balon. Mr. Balon may be related?

I did locate the following record:
Civil War Record:
Wiley Pearce, Company E, 27th North Carolina Infantry (Confederate).

Not certain that this Wiley is identical.

Robert Benjamin Hilton
Wikipedia( states that Robert Hilton is buried in St Johns Episcopal Cemetery in Tallahassee. The reference they give for this statement is The Political Graveyard, Biography of R B Hilton.

RE: Robert Benjamin Hilton
Good morning, Mr. Crocker.

I don't recollect receiving an answer from the church. I don't have access to my notes at this time either. I do remember meeting with someone and them showing me a very old map. I recollect the map did not have a reference of a Robert Hilton in their cemetery.

If you are still needing a photo of his marker, I will make an appointment with someone next week to inquire further. There is a bit of Fall weather in the air today and I wouldn't mind going back out to the cemetery and having a look around again. I'll be traveling out of town this week but would be happy to look around one day next week.

Let me know and I will be happy to investigate for you.

Charles James Munnerlyn, Jr.
I am not 100% positive, but I do believe this is probably the same Charlie Munnerlyn.
This was his military service: Confederate, Private, 11th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry (State Guards) Bruce's Co.

Hiram Allen
To let you know, I just came across where a Mrs C. J. Wilson applied for a veteran's headstone dated Jan. 1, 1939. According to this it was aproved Feb. 28, 1939 and stone shiped June 28, 1939. So if it has not been destroyed there should be one.

Do not know if the grave is marked. The old cemetery is in the middle of several thousand acres of private land and I have not been able to gain access. Hiram is the brother of my gg-grandfather and I only know he was buried here because of the death certificate and it was the area where he was living at the time.
