Thank you so much for linking him to his parents for me! He was my 2nd great-uncle and I'm glad to finally have him with his parents and most of his siblings. Your efforts are most greatly appreciated.

Benjamin Porter

I wanted to ask if you could remove your Memorial of my Uncle and Aunt because it is a duplicate. I made their memorials in 2010. His name is Benjamin Porter and Uree Porter. My Memorial # for him is 48430522 and for her Memorial is 48431498. I really appreciate your hard work and interest in my family. Thank-You so much!

Sincerely Janice Miller

RE: Hairm Fox
Thanks for the reply. I'd be interested to see the coroner report, if you have a copy.

The wife's name was Elizabeth E Robinson and they were married on 11 Sep 1910 (hey! it's their anniversary!) in Hayward, Pemiscot county, Missouri.

Hairm's obituary (which named him as "Hiram") makes no mention of his wife. However, his wife's obituary (from 1971) mentions him. I can send copies of both, if you'd like. Just reply to my original email and I'll send them.

His was in the Anderson Daily Bulletin, 10 Apr 1952 (p.32), and hers was in the Anderson Herald, 22 Jan 1971 (p.2).

These are the children of Newton Swank, and grandchildren of David Swank:

Bertha Swank Ward (1877 - 1946)*
Mary Ethel Swank Boman (1878 - 1953)*
Jesse David Swank (1880 - 1968)*
Elmer Morral Swank (1882 - 1937)*
Myrtle Olive Swank Tye (1885 - 1947)*
Mabel Alice Swank Wilkerson (1890 - 1964)*

Here is Newton Swank's page, by another member, and it is correct:

In my previous message, I left out a generation in my remark at the end:

David W Swank
Newton Morrel Swank
Jesse David Swank
Eugene David Swank
David Eugene Swank

so my "four generations of Davids" was not quite accurate. jh

Though he and his wife are buried in Indiana, do you know if David W. Swank ever lived in Trotter Township in Carroll County, Missouri? I have reason to believe he may have, and I would like to find out. David's grandson Jesse David Swank and his great grandson Eugene David Swank are buried in Trotter Cemetery in Trotter Township. David's son Newton Swank is buried in Texas County, MO, near the Ozarks, for some reason I don't know of. On the 1876 and 1896 plat maps of Trotter Township, a parcel of land is shown as belonging to David Swank, and the 1876 map is too early for the land to have belonged to Jesse David, born in 1880. Also Jesse David's parents Newton and Margaret were married in 1876, so I feel like from these details that David W Swank must have lived in Carroll County for some of that time, or else he bought the land for his son Newton when they were married. Hard to know that now. Hoping you know something about this question. These people are not related to me, but they were neighbors of my great grandfather in the 1870's and afterwards, and I am a friend of David's great great grandson - yet another David Swank with whom I went to high school. Four generations of Davids: David W, Jesse David, Eugene David, and his son David, and I think his middle name is Eugene after his dad. Thank you.

RE: Sarah Moore
Whetstone is by the church on Madison & 60th over there by the Erskine Elementary. A lot of old families used to go to that church. I imagine that some might bel that the old members were all bur there.?? Who knows, but I do know that whoever put in the stuff at the library made many mistakes. My understanding is that they had volunteers do it, and maybe some got crosseyed looking at all that stuff LOL!!
There is a little cem called Busby in Fall Creek Twp in the middle of a cow pasture and we went there and did the stones. Well over by Lapel on 32 there is a cem called Woodward-Gwinn and for some reason some want to call it Busby. Well everyone bur in Woodward-Gwinn and the Busby in Fall Creek Twp near Pendleton were all listed under Woodward-Gwinn-Busby and I showed the list for both to the Indiana Room and they were sup to take care of it, well I don't know if they ever got it straightened out or not. I have never went back over the names to see.

Thanks for letting me know for sure where she is bur.

You might want to check and make sure where you took the picture of the tombstone for Sarah J Moore 1837-1876 Memorial# 76211640. Her maiden name was Van Meter. And according to online Madison County Cem Commission and the lib. she is bur in Whetstone Cem no West Maplewood where her husb Wm. is bur. He died much later and he had remarried.

Thank you so much for taking and uploading the photos of Grandma Elizabeth's grave! I get out to Ohio to the cemeteries there, so I can visit those relatives' resting places, but have never been out to Greenlawn in Indiana in order to find her grave. I appreciate your work in photographing for those of us who can't be there!

Wow. That was so fast. Many thanks. I just realized I need to send you one for Mildred’s husband. I did this earlier and did not realize my error until later. I thought he was in another cemetery. I will send this separately. Thank you!

I added a photo of little guy. It was taken before he passed. His face is swollen due to his affliction. Thought you may want to see the little boy's burial you found for us. Thanks again, Karen. I told the group RAOGK about all the help you gave.

Thank you so very much. the little guy died a horrible death and if I could make a memorial for him he has a bunch of flowers coming from the people on this site I am on. We have a picture of him taken before he died. His face was bruised & swollen. Sad
