Okay--now I see what's going on. I had no idea you're the same person who wanted the transfers. I transferred them.

It looks correct to me--nothing any different than other memorials.

Hi there,
Have a look at picture no. 2 I have written what I was able to read of the lettering as all the lead lettering has gone.

Hi,
I'm sorry but this message makes no sense.
I sent you pictures of the Coffey/Cody grave in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. And you were supposed to decide if it was the right grave or not.
Let me know?

Jerseygirl,
I am going to look for your email address and send the pictures to you. Then you can decided.
I think you have the right plot and cemetery and you can always call the office and double check. Besides, more pictures cn be added or removed anytime.
Let me know what you think?

Susan Fenner at Clifton Cemetery
Hi,
I made my way to the Clifton Cemetery today. Sorry to say, what I found was not very good. After I got home, I called and spoke with Christine at the Washington Township clerk's office. She confirmed the cemetery had been vandalized in the early 1990's and some stones that were there, are no longer there. The cemetery is on a gravel road in an isolated, rural area. Years ago, they placed a cyclone fence along the front of the cemetery to keep out vandals. She told me the township inherited six historical cemeteries from private associations (churches, etc.) when they dissolved. The township got whatever records they had. Clifton is the oldest cemetery in the township. Christine said there are 25 burials there. They have a 1951 transcript of the tombstones in the cemetery, which includes Susan Fenner (Christine thinks middle initial B) born Feb 20, 1834 and died Apr 19, 1874 (same info as in Find a Grave memorial). Unfortunately, there is no longer a grave stone present for Susan Fenner. While at the cemetery, I could tell there were markers missing and gone from their bases. There were some broken stones to the side in a pile, but they were worn smooth with no decipherable inscription. I believe most of the stones that still exist at Clifton Cemetery are already on Find A Grave.

Holy Name requests
Was cleaning up my files and saw an old request from you at this cemetery. There is no cemetery by that name in North Arlington but is in Jersey City. And when I checked the online list, I saw them there. Sorry but I don't do that area but if you change the cemetery listing and request again maybe a volunteer there can get for you. Martha

The Coffeys
Hello again, Jerseygirl!

It's important to move the Coffey pages to the correct cemetery because "Holy NAME Cemetery, North Arlington" will be deleted from Findagrave's cemetery roster. This is because there is no such cemetery in North Arlington, NJ, and there never was. The cemetery in North Arlington is called Holy CROSS Cemetery.
You've mentioned that the Coffeys were moved from Snake Hill to "Arlington". "Arlington" is a section of Kearny, a town in Hudson County, NJ. The cemetery there is called Arlington Memorial Park, a.k.a. Arlington Cemetery.
So...if the Coffeys were transferred to Holy NAME Cemetery, then they're in Jersey City. If they were transferred to a cemetery in North Arlington, then they are in Holy CROSS Cemetery. If they were transferred to "Arlington", then they are in Arlington Memorial Park in Kearny. Nobody is in "Holy Name, North Arlington", because it doesn't exist.

Best regards,
Nikita

Andrew, James, & Michael Coffey
Hi, again!

Trying to simplify my wordy previous message: Andrew (d. Sept. 1881), James (d. 1882) & Michael (d.1886) are buried in JERSEY CITY, Hudson County, NJ, which is where Holy Name Cemetery is located. North Arlington, NJ, site of Holy CROSS Cemetery, was nothing but woods and fields in the 1880's.

Best regards again,
NB

Holy Name/Holy Cross
Greetings, Jerseygirl!

I evidently didn't make myself clear about the Holy/Name Cross mix-up, as your burials are still mis-listed.
There is NO "Holy NAME" in North Arlington, Bergen County, NJ, and there never was. The large Catholic cemetery at this location is Holy CROSS. Holy NAME Cemetery is in JERSEY CITY, Hudson County, NJ, some 10 miles away.
If you're not sure where whether your entries were buried in Holy CROSS or in Holy NAME, the date of death is a clue. If they died before 1915, they could not have been buried in Holy Cross, because it was not yet in existence. Hope that helps!

Best regards,
Nikita

RE: Catherine M Flowers
I put Michael, Timothy and Mary on findagrave.
If you would like I could put a picture of the space where I believe Catherine is.
If there are problems with church and headstones and stuff, it stands to reason she has no headstone.
Call the office, they have all the information and most of the time they know if there is a headstone.
I will put up the picture and if you don't like it, I will remove it.
