If you would be so kind as to send source information with your edits, I would be happy to post your edits. Very little info on death certificates here in Missouri is available and not many are even available.

I try very hard to make sure data on my memorials are accurate so I hope you understand.

I am searching for information on my Great Grandmother Mary M. Reynolds. Abraham & Mary Reynolds are the parents of Ann and Susanah "Susan" (Mayr M.s mother). I saw your memorial page for the Ann Reynolds McAfee and was hoping you had info on Susanah. I am more than happy to share any info I have.

Are you related to Merritt Erwin Trantham?

This may be correct, it looks authoritative. I will have to go up and verify on the gravestone. Also note that the Gravestone Has July 24th 1821 as the death date and not July 23rd. Also they have the year of his death as 1821 or 22.

I typically would place more weight on the dates on a gravestone as one of the top most authoritative documents since the family paid for it and had it placed. The stone also is comtemporary to 1821 and not a modern replacement. So it could be a case of everyone citing the same bad source, over time, or it could be that the stone does give his proper age.

I will go and get better pictures up there and I would be willing to say that whatever the stone has on it would be most autoritative, unless some other original contempory document from his death or birth could be found, which could be possible. Maybe that is something you have access to? I thank you for your help in this and now you have spurred me on to find out the the truth! We shall press towards it! Are you a descendant of John Darragh? If so my wife and you are related.

Take Care and Thanks so much!

Daniel, I went ahead and added the ad for his job as engraver, and then looks back at my orignal larger photo and I could for sure distinctly make out "55 Years" on the last line, which would likely read "aged, 55 Years...." Which would put him being born in 1766 whoch is what all of our family papers also agreed with. Hope this helps! I will still try for a better picture with cross light with our mirror next time we are up.

I wished I could! We live in South Carolina, and only were there in Delaware on the last few minutes of Daylight one day last year. It will take some careful soil removal so as not to hurt the stone, but I will try and get a complete transcribe and photo, so that nobody has to take my word for the transcribe. It being under the ground is actually preserving the lower line from decay. I will try and get another chance at it soon. Are you a descendant? I have a newspaper ad from the 1790's where John was an engraver and placed an ad. If you are interested I will post it after I find it on my computer.

Yes, they both include children. I also have others of Aunt Ornan and many of the children. Where should I send them?

Yes, it is indeed a beautiful marker. It is just to the left of George T. Their infant son is to her left. I am always happy to try to work your requests. It frustrates me when I can't complete one due to no marker being there. I always try to look a little deeper on ones where no markers are evident. We have very thorough survey records here in Washington County. I am the "graveyard guru" for the Heritage Alliance, hence get a ton of exposure to these burial grounds. If you are ever chasing one that is proving to be illusive, send me an e-mail and I'll try to dig deeper. Gordon

RE: Ona Love
Thanks for not being upset by my correction - some people are so touchy and do get upset. I do not mean to be rude or bossy - I had to learn the same way everyone else does. Many people helped me. BTW - YOUR photo is really good, too, handsome! Your photos are clear and good and I'm happy that you are sharing them.

RE: Harshbargers
Hi, I am checking... this is my husband's father's line... Oh yes, his name was David Andrew Harshbarger (some records say Hashbarger) - and wife was Mary Evaline Fraker; they were my husband's great grandparents. Their daughter Rachel Susanne (Nannie) Harshbarger Cochran was my husband's grandmother. They are well documented on my family tree on Cochran/Davis family tree. It's public and you are welcome to anything you find there. If you don't have access, you are welcome to receive an invitation to it, just let me know.
Good luck in your searches... Clc

Nothing in what you sent me says he is buried there, but it isn't me who manages the memorial. You need to contact the memorial manager for any changes. LG
