What a very nice story about your relation to the McKenzies. 12 years ago when I started taking my Yorkie to a groomer in another town, the groomer and I became good friends. Both of us enjoyed genealogy. It was only 4 years ago that she discovered we were related on my dads side. Wow!!! It is a distant relationship but nevertheless we are related. Now she and my son are getting closer to a friendship so I am wondering where this will lead. Genealogy shows a person how small this world is. Your biology teacher instilled in you a wonderful experience and I am glad he did. He would have been very proud. Keep up the good work!!!!

Thank you so much for the correction. I usually use death certificates for my information. Don't know how I got this so messed up. Thanks again.

Orange and Cienega Cemeteries
The folks in Dell City call it Cienega Cemetery. I had never heard of Orange Cemetery. I was corrected when I called it Orange Cemetery. I was told the Cemetery was Cienega, the school was called Orange. Cienega had 4 or 5 memorials on Find A Grave when I started adding memorials. I found that after I had added almost the entire cemetery, that I had dupicated most of Orange Cemetery. They are the same cemetery with different names. I contacted Find A Grave to sort it out. (No response yet.) I will ask around about William Washington Sumrall, Jr. Do you know about when William died?

I'm sorry, I see that I didn't mention here that these two ladies share the grave, with Mary Ellen being buried on top. I did make a notation with the photo, but unless you click on the photo to enlarge it, the notation doesn't show.

No, there is just the one stone. I'm rather surprised that Julia's name wasn't put on the stone along with Mary Ellen's. At least there is the one stone to mark the exact location of the grave(s). Sometimes it's a real challenge to find them.

Does the name Mary Ellen OLeary mean anything to you? It appears that Julia shares a grave with this person.
