Great to hear back and, yes, I can send you quite a bit of information as we go along.
For now can you write me direct at
To begin, Dad had 4 children: Jack Speir Armstrong 1935 -
Joan Armstrong Moody......and you had something about her 1937 - 2003?
MaryAnn Armstrong Webster 1944 -
Leslie Harold Armstrong, Jr 1946 -
Hope to hear back at my personal email. I had a heck of a time figuring out my email and password here......hehehehe
So glad you are still this side of the soil and I do hope you are in great health and great spirits.
I had a dream about Dad and a former student last night.......then your response....Amazing
I remember you so clearly.....Didn't your parents move to a brick home just off Capitol Way??
Even as a younger teen I went to the concerts and remember you accompanying and I saw you outside that role many times.
Best and thanks,

In reference to #59177045.
I have reviewed land records signed by this man and his middle name signed by him is Gillington not Gerdner. Several years ago I posted Gerdner as an unproven possible middle name, and now everyone posts it as his name. I can get no one to change it even showing proof. Sullivan county Indiana land records.

|Eileen||RE: Doris Brown photo|
SO pleased that I could help! I don't even know what a person has to go through/fill out in order to request a photo, just what I do on my end. I do know that the Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla has a database through the City that I can use to search for anyone buried there, regardless of whether there is a memorial on Find A Grave. It is what I utilize to better try and pinpoint the exact location in the cemetery, (which houses the remains of more than 30,000 people). In the case of Doris, and many other wives that I have seen, sometimes it is just the husband's name that has a memorial set up and the wife just "falls through the cracks" sometimes. But the computerized database "knows everything", I would say!!

Hey Dan! I found C Vernon Brown's memorial here on Find-A-Grave (Find A Grave Memorial# 58612248) with Doris E buried beside him on a double stone that is pictured on HIS memorial page. Is that at all helpful to you, or do you need more?
Let me know if I there is something else regarding this family branch I can help with.
P.S. Never been to Tennessee, although I probably have some kind there I never met!

|Divdar||J. David McFarland|
Also, on my last trip to Nevada, I found an article from the Nevada Daily Mail death files: 'A man named McFarland whose home is in the vicinity of Walker, died at the home of Mr. Denton, in the north part of this city, Thursday evening, Nov 9, 1887, of heart disease. The deceased had been to Arkansas on a hunting expedition and was enroute home." Any thoughts on this being J. David McFarland?

Thanks for posting the picture of David and Phoebe McFarland. I was wondering if you might have any other McFarland photos? Thanks.

I copied all the pages with info on them and sent them to you months ago, before I donated the bible. Maybe you did not see the attachments at that time. I did notice you never mentioned my attachments. I thought you didn't think they were so great. Anyway, sorry you might not of seen them before now. There was wonderful info I thought you would like. Enjoy your searching. Judy Jones

|junebug||RE: Susan Jane (Usrey) Neeley # 59177132|
Thank you for attaching Susan to her parents and for the kind information also. I was researching another Neeley and came across this line and wanted to link the family together (as much as I could). I'm going to request the owner of Philip's memorial include that he was a minister. The owner of the memorial for his wife, Mary Frances Warren, has her listed as "Mary Frances "Frances" (Warren) Usrey, mother of Juda, Susan Jane,
Phillip Jr., Richard, David, and Joseph Warren Usrey."
My mother's grandfather was also a minister and the founder of a church. It is a blessing to have such a memory/heritage of someone who faithfully loved and served as He (Jesus) also loved us.
I've a couple* of Neeleys that I could transfer to you, if you wish. Although, at this point, I've moved on elsewhere and would have to think a bit before I could tell you if the one is even in your line. The other is the reason I was searching. He is a Ahtna Taltsiine (water) Clan native of Alaska. So I doubt that he is your relative. Of course, he was an active Christian minister to his people and a preacher… so one never knows! Lol.
Again, thanks for the info. Its quite interesting. I do so enjoy genealogy.
BTW, you're a retired musician… what instrument(s)? I'm sure you miss that moment when, all the instruments coming together, make that glorious sound that just utterly surrounds you - unlike anything a radio or concert hall can replicate. Lol. I still my middle-school symphonic band days… and, believe me, THAT was a long time ago.
May the Lord bless and guide you.

If you click on the link to the cemetery's website on the Find A Grave cemetery page you will see where it says the office is located in the South Sound Manor facility. If you click on the "Facilities" link on the left side of the page you can see a photo of the building I described. Hopefully I can take a decent photo this weekend to add to the page.
The brick building was gone before I started going out there in 2007 so it was interesting to see what was once there.

Thanks for getting back to me. The building is no longer there. The building at the North St entrance is a white rotunda style one with pillars in front. Now that it has stopped raining I'm planning on going out this weekend and take a photo of the building and some area photos to add to the cemetery page.

I've had to take a break from doing any genealogy for a while. It being wedding season I haven't done much else other than work on wedding dresses. Probably around November I might get back into it again. If you do have anything on Uncle Red I would like to see that.
Hope all is well with you.

I believe I am a descendent of Henry Russell, father of Joseph Russell 1795-1848 from Franklin. I would like to find more about the family from this area. I will try to visit the Russell cemetery tomorrow, but don't know exactly what I am looking for. I live near Houston Texas but my son lives in Nashville so I am in the area a couple times a year.

|Lorraine Huey||RE: Beaverton|
I went through the genealogy stuff that was Uncle Red's. Not a whole lot of information there but maybe something you don't have. Did you say you had the book "Hestand Family of Page County, Virginia" by David B. Trimble? If you do then I won't send it to you unless you want it. I need your address to send the other information though.
Also, did you know your Aunt Virginia? Did she have any children? There was a note in some of my mom's stuff about trying to find Virginia or her children if she had any. I think maybe she had wanted some genealogy. If you know anything about them let me know.
My best friend's live in Franklin, TN. I got to visit them last fall and fell in love with the area. We spent a couple of days in Gatlinburg and had a blast.
Hopefully your area will avoid any tornadoes this year. So sad about Oklahoma.
