RE: Thomas Freeman photo
Hi Nathan, Both photos have been added. You should ask to have Thomas, John and Mary's memorials transfered to you, since you are a direct descendant. If the person who created the memorial is not a direct descendant they should transfer them over to you. You have to put in a request. If you want to do it and need help, let me know. I needed help the first time I did it and a Find a Grave member helped me, so I'd be glad to help you. Ron.

Hi, It's Mary A. 1840-1916, but the cemetery has her listed as Mary Jane Freeman unknown-1916, the stone says Mary A. On your g-great grandfather page click on Sherman Cemetery type in her name and her memorial will come up. I'll add John now and just let me know when her request is in. Ron

RE: Thomas Freeman photo
Hi Nathan I will be glad to add the photo to their memorials, but if you would please put in requests for both of them. Three weeks ago I added a photo without a request and a descendant of that person sent me a very nasty email. I don't know why, but they were upset because I added the photo without a request.
After you put in the requests please email me to let me know because Find a Grave won't email me about the requests because the cemetery is out of my range. Thanks, Ron.

RE: Thomas Freeman photo
Hi Nathan, You are very welcome, I just happened to be over that way yesterday, it's about 25 miles from where I live.
Do you happen to know your gg-grandparents names because next to your g-grandfather Thomas might be his parents. The names are John Freeman 1833-1905 and his wife Mary A. 1840-1916. I do have the photo if they are your direct ancestors. There are many, many Freeman's in that cemetery and in some way you are most likely related to all of them.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney

I'll have to look it back up again. I don't keep copies, my poor computer would overload. I'm tied up for most of the day tomorrow. If you send me your email, I'll send you a copy.

So sorry that I can't help. I think that I got the boy's information from it's death certificate.
I live a good little ways from there, but I'm planning a trip for grave hunting in Louisburg soon, I will stop by this one and try to find it also.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Tim

Jean
Rufus Batten
Thank you so much for the fine photo of Rufus Batten's tombstone! And many thanks for searching for the other three Battens that I had requested. Apparently there are several Batten cemeteries in the area and I cannot tell which is which. If you have any ideas as to where the others are buried I would certainly appreciate it as the only info I have is that they are buried in the "Batten family cemetery" and I have a lot of them that I haven't posted. Please contact me at jlewis1501@embarqmail.com.
