The person that will help you lives right across from the cemetery up a lane in sight of cemetery. Will be glad to help out.

RE: Casey cemetery
I am so happy that it is being restored. I tried to visit a couple of times while I lived there and could not access it due to rain. I wish I could be there November 1. Please do take lots of photos and share them with me if you would.
I am most interested in knowing if Willis Robert Lucas Casey was buried there. I have never found a grave for him; and he likely died in the 1880s. His mother and father are buried there: Jacob Duckett Casey and Sarah Francis Lucas Casey.
I have so wanted to be a member of the DAR, but there is one brick wall that I have never been able to tear down.
Please keep me updated.

I so wish I could be there.

Thank you and the DAR for your service. This is history and it is about to be lost. I have more info on this family. I would love for the graves to be saved.

On lot 218 has Stanley G Delano born 165 died Aug 23 1929. Parents for Stanley are Nathan and ? Delaney. His wife Nettie E. Delano and child Chester V. Her parents are Samuel & Mary Hasting.

I think you knew those have stones and have been added to graves.

On Lot 104 there are five people according to cemetery records. Nathan B Delano, Born 9March 1830 Died 15 December 1889.

Caroline Delano. Born 1838 Died 1914.

John W Delano, born Jan 1868 Died 24 February. Parents are Nathan & Caroline Delano.

Daisy (Mayme) Delano. Born 6 September 1895 Died 15 June 1901. Parents Orin & Mamie Delano.

Jane Delano With no other information. There are no stones on this lot.

On lot 223 there is one Alvin Delano Born 1897 & died 14 January 1905. Parents are A.C. & Carrie Delano. At this time am not sure about stone on 223.

This info is all from cemetery Records.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Something like this has been long needed, and hope was just about gone. Too many old graveyards, not enough caring people with the motivation and the means. Please keep us advised. Let me know whom else to thank if you possibly can. God bless you, and thanks again.

RE: William Lucius Lorance
VERY interesting. I wondered myself that they would have returned William Lucius' body from the battlefield to Ala. The only thing I had seen for sure was W. L.'s wife and baby boy buried there and his father and mother. Cannot remember off the top of my head the source of the Manassas death site. One answer raises at least 3 more questions, huh?
You are a great sleuth! I will keep working on this also! Thanks again! ph

Was unable to find your request for Stanley or Caroline Delanobut there is another lot in the cemetery that is owned by a Delano. Will try to check further on that lot but there is no stone on that lot.

Good luck to you. It is maddening not to be able to find these ancestors. I have some buried in a pasture that was once family owned property. There are a few stones left there, some in disrepair but some are totally gone, I am sure. Guess that is what makes this search interesting and on-going! Peg

With the rain that we just had, you might have a hard time getting back there in a regular vehicle - it will be very muddy - especially with logging trucks going in and out - so be careful ~

Mary Paulk Tombtone
Thank you so much for trying to find Mary Paulk's tombstone. After digging around, I found that the originator of this memorial had used "Paulk" as her name but that she had remarried to "Willis" after Paulk died and her tombstone is a double one with the last husband. The husband's memorial did have a photo, so I added that same photo to Mary's memorial and it is now complete. I will remove the photo request but wanted to thank you for your efforts!

Casey Cemetery
Please check your email for directions to Casey Cemetery! They are updating this thread on Find-A-Grave, so I couldn't add directions yet on this site. Coordinates are: 34 degrees 55' 07.98 N, 87 degrees 45'52.14 W... Would love to know if the DAR does place a Revolutionary War Soldier marker there for Jacob Casey!

RE: Biddy Stevenson
Billie Stevenson was her son. William Bryant Stevenson. Biddy was born abt 1806 in North Carolina and died 18 Jul 1895 in Florence, Alabama. Her son is buried in Stoney Point. Her daughter Nancy Stephenson Eakins and her husband John Eakins are buried in the Florence Cemetery. I have not been able to pin point where the other daughters lived and died. Still a work in progress...
