I am wondering if you are related to the family of Granville & Sarah Kennon Bryant. I am connected to the Kennon family, and am working on a family history. Thanks, Tim D.

John Wayne Chestnut
I have headstone photos for John Wayne Chestnut that I will add to his memorial. Unfortunately, it was late in the day and the main headstone photo did not turn out well. Please look at them. I will delete them and you may re-request them if you wish. Please let me know. Thanks.

I would have to agree with you in regards to how many Rena Chesnutts there were in San Diego at that time. And I actually found it under Chesnutt. Hopefully you will find the missing pieces. Both of my boys went to Palomar JC too - small world. And yes - this is the best area of the country! Maybe you'll get back to visit. =]

The manager is very reliable in dong updates and very generous in transferring too. Sorry - there are no other Chesnutts or Chestnutts with or next to him at Ft Rosecrans but there is another Chesnutt, Stella Faye Chesnutt, wife of William Otis Chesnutt. I checked the NGL for Rena but found nothing. I did find a record in CA Marriages from 1962 for Rena Chesnutt and John L Brown.

Name:Rena I Chesnutt
Age:66
Est. Birth:abt 1896
Spouse Name:John L Brown
Spouse Age:71
Est. Spouse Birth:abt 1891
Date:16 Oct 1962
Location:San Diego

Perhaps this is the one you're looking for which could explain why she's not buried next to James.

Happy hunting!

Linda

You're very welcome, glad you like them. I just posted a photo of the Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death File showing the spelling of his last name and have requested the manager of the memorial change the spelling. I also noticed a difference in the date of birth. It looks as though he may have lied about his age, as a lot of young men did in order to join the service and fight in WWI. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

RE: THANK YOU
Do you know about the southwest Ga historical newspaper project? some old Tift county newspapers are on line...also you can go to GA virtual vault and find some death certificates by county and last name combined.
And do you know about familysearch.org? where you can look up birth, death, marriages and census records? email me directly if you need help with any of these.
Thanks for the kind words!

RE: Chesnutt Family
delighted to make any changes...struggled with spelling. Knew the Chestnutts in Worth county, living across from my grandma in Isabella , GA.
I am a volunteer...be absolutely DELIGHTED TO TRANSFER TO YOU! Just use edit key one top left, under suggestions say transfer and give me your number...copy and paste each time...then will be easier for me to copy and paste as well.
Thanks so much for being interested!
