I put an old photo I had of her gravestone up. Not certain, but several of the cemeteries in close proximity to Barry Co. MO have been photographed. Might check the Barry Co GenWeb site and see if Roller in McDonald Co. is one of them.

No, I am just going off of what the cemetery record for him has. His DC lists Ben, I don't know why the cemetery lists something different.

Yes this is Maybelle. She was my Aunt married to Keith Longacre. I would be happy to share any info. I am not researching the Woods family. Only the Longacre family.

You have sent me an edit requesting that I link Moses and Mary Jane Sutten as parents of Ollie C. Leach, and that I add a maiden name of Sutton for Ollie. Moses and Mary Jane's headstones show the name spelled Sutten.

Do you have any more such certificates? You posted a really nice, high resolution copy. Now I can print it off and put it in my family book. I can give you my e-mail address if you would be willing to share more. I can also send you my line back to the Shells. I have several DNA matches on that side as well.

I just noticed you had posted the baptismal certificate for my 5th great-grandfather Johannes Schell. WOW! Where did you get that? Do you have such documents for his wife, parents, etc?

|carolyn clark||RE: Alexander family|
I've just seen ur message. My father was Raymond Mertens he md: Elsie Rogers. Raymonds f. md: Ive Grace Alexander. So she was my grandmother. People always said I favored her a lot, but in a little softer way. lol. She had a lil bit of a temper with words to match, but very pretty according to those days. Very talented. Could play the organ, harmonica, & taught herself to play the guitar. And grandpa told me she had a good singing voice. I was named after her (carolyn grace) I can remeber a lot of the alexanders when I was growing up. Just about every gettogether the Mertens had, ther alexanders were always encluded. After my dad died, I was about 10, Alvin asked my mother to marry him. Mama told him she loved him , but notin that way. But they alwas remained friends * he would stop in to be sure we were ok. Just leave me a message anytime, be glad to converse with u. :)

|Dave Johnston||RE: John Clark Johnston|
You are right about John C. Johnston being in Madison Co., AR, before moving to SE corner of MO. Several years ago I exchanged many email with a descendant of Thomas Johnston. He believed Thomas as a son of John C. Johnston and Sybil Springer, but I was never convinced. John and Sybil had 11 kids: Urias, b. 2 May 1825 likely in Lawrence Co., TN, CW USA; William, b. ca 1827; John J "Happy Jack," b. 4 Nov 1830, CW US; Catherine A. E., b. 1830 Lawrence Co., TN; Mary, b. 1833; Margaret (Pet)b. 1835; Dennis b. 4 Jan 1837; George Washington, b. 12 Jan 1840; Francis Marion b. 9 Aug 1842; "Jim," b. abt 1843, CW CSA; and Jane Johnston, b. ca. 1845.
There was a John C. Johnson (wife Miriam?) who was a contemporary of John Clark Johnston in Madison County, AR, who may be Thomas' father. While Thomas and John Clark Johnston lived near each other, I don't think they were father/son. If my long-time pen pal Jerry Johnston were to take a DNA test we could settle the matter, but I've lost touch with him, and he didn't offer to take the Y-DNA test when I offered it to him.
John Clark Johnston is my 3rd great uncle, a brother to my 3rd great grandfather Samuel Carter Johnston. Samuel C. never moved from Tennessee to Ark with his brothers.
