Hi again, Bill! I just noticed that the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War also have James Murrell buried in Harveyville Cemetery, but they have his name as Merrell. His name appears both ways on his military records. Could cemetery records also be "Merrell?" Thanks so much (are you related to Murrells?)

Thanks for looking for James Murrell. He was buried in village cemetery, Harveyville, Wabunsee Co KS, as the gov't provided a marker for his Civil War service. I figured the village cemetery would be Harveyville, but, maybe not. Do you happen to know which cemetery was referred to as village cemetery? (I will probably be interested in the other Murrels you found, also.) Thanks again.

"dupe of Martha Rouse-Corbin Fuller @ Eskridge, KS
What is the other last name that she is listed under? I'll remove mine if it is newer and transfer the Bio info to the other one."
I stumbled across it while looking for a Martha Fuller ( I think). Don't remember what cemetery she was in....just click on the cemetery name, type in first name only and it will bring the other memorial up. Good Luck.

Thanks for determining Frank Lacey's place of burial. Looks like he needs a gravemarker or stone. I know some of the family, I might ask them. Thanks for your help.

|William Sharp||Claude Moore|
Hi, Thank you very much for taking the extra effort in locating the burial location of Claude Moore. I had a hunch that he must have been buried in the same plot as his parents Edward and Sarah Moore. Mamie is Claudes wife.
All the dates match what I have found. Claude was the last of the family to die so I guess that no on was left to update the family marker.

Thanks for looking.
His obit is nearly one page tall and he was a prominent newspaper owner and operator,
so you would think the family would have a stone.
Perhaps his wish to not have one.
In any case he came to Lawrence KS in 1857 from Tioga County PA (quite a trip then) and that surely was an exciting time to be a news man as the Civil War came to town in a state with mixed loyalties.
