Jerry Hughes & Roger Young
Robert Williams, Woodlawn Mem Park, Compton, CA
Hi Don, my name is Jerry Hughes and I went to Woodlawn today with a couple of other volunteers to Woodlawn in hopes of finding a marker for Robert, we located the area he is buried in, unfortunately we have to tell you it is in an unmarked grave. we took photos of the location, it is next to a couple other Williams Names, Luis Williams and Willie Williams, he is buried somewhere in between them. We are very sorry that there was no actual marker for him. His location was pinpointed with help of maps and information from the Cemetery office. Best regards, Jerry and the WMP Volunteers.

RE: Betty Bollinger/ Steven McCurdy
I do not have an obituary for him either, but all of the ones I have seen on the internet state he was born in 1935, (as you know) and death date of 2006. I am not sure what happened or why they made the plaque the way they did. I am sorry I couldn't help you more on that. Perhaps that is why they took so long to put it up on the stone, because they knew it was wrong and didn't want to put it up. I guess we will never really know, unless you speak to the family directly. I hope you have success in your hunting. :)

RE: Betty Bollinger/ Steven McCurdy
You are very welcome. I kept checking to see if they put a plaque up for Lee, I am glad they finally did.

Karen Day
Alycea Price Dove Rehnert
Hi Don, I found your Alyce / Alycea Price who was married to Benjamin Dove. According to information I have found on Ancestry, she and Benjamin divorced in 1941 (Oct 8). She then remarried a Louis J Rehnert (Sep 11 1948). She died in 1959 and was buried in Hicks Cemetery Memorial #13452021. I believe Louis J Rehnert is still alive at 89 in Battle Creek.

I appreciate that you are not "going for the numbers". I too, add records as I find them and try to bring family members together at Find-a-Grave when I can. Continue the good work!

Kind regards,
Karen Day

RE: Leslie E. Young grave photos
Hi Don:
Your request has me confused. The memorial you want me to add the pictures too is at Wanette cemetery. The original memorial is at Tecumseh Cemetery and has link to parents and siblings. I took the picture at Wanette Cemetery. Karen

RE: Only in it to Build Numbers
Hello Don. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has seen this ridiculous act of numbers collecting on Find-A-Grave. I used to enjoy posting to Find-A-Grave. I only post people who were close to me in life. I actually had to rush to post my own son's passing so that a few certain people who are into the 'numbers' game didn't post first. Sad and disgusting to me. This site is beginning to turn into a circus with the 'numbers collectors' being the clowns. Sorry. This issue is a sensitive one for me and angers me. Take care, God bless and thank you for your note :)

Did they Young's live in Wanette or just in Pottawatomie Co. I do have records of some Youngs but not sure they are from the same family. There is a tree I created on titled Wanette but it doesn't have any more information than you do on these particular Youngs.

Wanette also has a facebook page. Its titled "You know you're from Wanette if...." They have posted a bunch of old pictures and newspaper articles but there is lots of chatter about current activities. I have never seen so much talk in all my life...for being so small of a town, they are very active. Maybe 100 people.

Cottrell & Young
I am not related. I have just lived in Wanette since birth. Does Edna have a tombstone? I've pretty much photographed the entire cemetery but I'm pretty sure there is one small section that I missed and need to go back and find it. Lots of sections there. I found her death date and just added it to findagrave so you should get a notification on findagrave to approve it.

The Santa Fe Historical Museum and Society are very active on facebook. They post old pics of Pott Co daily. There is a book about Wanette up there made by Miss Dawson and I've asked for a digital copy of it and they are suppose to tell me who much but they haven't given me a price yet but I'll ask again. I guess they have finally began scanning all their pics and records. Its about time! Just type in Pottawatomie under facebook and you'll see it.

RE: The Stick Family
Oh, what a shame. After looking at both pictures, I can see where the statues are missing from. Yes, it is sad that people feel they can destroy others property.

RE: Your Profile
Thank you so very much for your kind words. I usually take 2 photos of one marker. One without items, swept clean and one with the items once they are replaced. So people viewing then can see all the Little trinkets or flowers, etc, that may be there:)I love what I do, and I am here for the same reasons as you.. One day, this site will be far more valuable that any other source. I wish more people would realize, they are on a website, and their name is with that picture , forever, to :) Thanks for reaching out ~

Resthaven Cemetery in OKC
I saw your requests in Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City. The funeral home charges non-family members to get plot locations. To get your requests, a plot is needed and there are a few active photographers! I did a quick newspaper search in The Oklahoman for Martin Friar. I came across some articles. I am going to email them to you using The Oklahoman's email system. Good luck in your searches!

Lee Bollinger photo request
I have been out to the cemetery twice and couldn't find a stone for him. I did find Betty and the son though. Perhaps they don't have one up for him yet. I will keep checking when I go out that way.

You are so welcome for the photos. Unfortunately I was unable to find a stone for Lee Bollinger. I walked the whole cemetery for several hours but didn't find one.

My mother grew up in Plainwell and remembers Art's shoe repair, as we dusted the grave off for the photos she said "He was great! We took our shoes there all the time." Thought you might like to know that he was remembered and admired.

RE: Tim Williams

Hunter has been working on something for me for a month. Dont hold your breath..they are quite busy too though and hv old timers working there.
The geneology society has cemetery books that are quite informative. There are three and cost abt 125. For all three. If my people were from this county Id definately hv them bcos they hv in some cases daughter and son of and married to, some even hv cause of death. To me they are priceless. There are a few sets left. I wdnt wait.

Mail me your address and I will send you a list of what thwy hv for sale. There is a CD but Im not sure what is on it.

Glad I cld help you.
