RE: Babcock-Mattison-Bissell
Hi Diane, I was born in Muskegon but we moved to Grand Rapids area when I was four. I remember my aunt Eleanor bringing her mother to family things, even once to our house in GR. Sigrid was a friend of my grandmothers also. Sigrid died about a month after I graduated from high school. I don't remember Harry at all. I don't have any pictures that I know of. I will look and make sure. Nancy

RE: Myrtle Mae Lemma, Cox, Bohannon
Diane

I got your message about Grandmuddy. She was my maternal grandmother. Over the next couple of days, I will put together the information but just a couple of quick answers.
Myrtle Mae Lemma Cox did marry Prince Alfred Bohannon. They both were widow/ers. I met Aunt Beddie and Aunt Sadie but knew Aunt Mabel that lived in Galveston on S 1/2 Street. I see that she was not listed as one of the siblings of Myrtle so I'm sure we can figure that out.
Grandmuddy talked about a Tadlock (I think she said Ira) that was a sheriff in Waco maybe in the late 50s or 60s but I do not remember the relationship.
Grandmuddy was so dear to us so I am happy to finally be able to fill in some blanks about her life -- thank you for contacting me. I can update you on her history soon and may just use your email address.

RE: Julius Gifford obit
The three names from the probate record were business men from here in town.
Now I need to find out why his name shows up in another article at the library from Nov. 20, 1857.
I was after it today, but wrote down the wrong date.

RE: Julius Gifford obit
I would not have any problem adding him to the Oquawka Cemetery.
I peeked at his probate record.
H.F. Patau supplied the coffin @ $15.00
P.H. Chapin funeral expenses @ $5.00
Joe Neally funeral expenses @ 5.50
All were from Oquawka.
Chapin ran a livery, probably owned the hearse.
Neally maybe a team of horses ?
Patau built coffins, may have been the under taker also.
I added a pic of his obit.
If you don't want it there and you can't remove it, let me know and I'll take it down.
Ron

RE: Julius Gifford
I have no records for him, therefore I can't find a stone.
Do you have his obit ?
There should be one at the library if you don't.
Sorry,
Ron

RE: Florence Northrup
We have been getting some very, very warm days. I love it, even though I know we need the moisture. I grew up in the desert, so I get cabin fever pretty badly in the winter here. I made it out to the cemetery just in time, though: the last two days have been dumping on us. March is usually a pretty heavy snow month. I guess we'll find out. :)

Florence Northrup
You will never believe what just happened! I saw a headstone at the cemetery today when looking for Florence labeled simply "The O'Dowd Boys". I was curious about this, so I Googled it to see if I could find history on who these boys were, and instead found a listing of interments at Crystal Valley Cemetery. I started browsing the list and found Florence Northrup's name!! She is listed as buried in the same plot owned by Galen, but does not have a marker. I will give you the link to the site so you can see for yourself. It lists her burial on the same plot as Galen, so if you'd like me to load the photo of his marker as hers, I will. Let me know. I'm so excited! Florence is number 023 007 SE
