RE: Alice
Elsie was my grandmother. I do believe that we have exchanged many emails, and that quite possibly, I might have given you the information on this line. Thanks.

More on sharps (second message)
I went back and read the information that you had about your families--you have St Joe, MO as one of your places--St Joe and that area --I have found a lot of my Sharp family there--so we are probably related. My great grandfather Commodore Perry Sharp's first wife and baby are buried in Doniphan County, Kansas just out of St. Joe--so I imagine that there is a connection somewhere--Loneta
my email address is

RE: Sharp
I have a lot of Sharps to cover, but my family settled in Macoupin county before the Civil War and moved down into Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma and Texas. William Sharp 1790-1840 is as far back as I have gone , but he has a lot of family that I have not really explored yet. (and there are alot of wiliam Sharps) I believe that the Sharps came to Illinois from Tennessee, some stopped in Kentucky and started out in Virginia--so I guess that I don't know if we are related, probably we are way back there some where, they seemed to have run to big families. My mother was a sharp, daughter of Cecil Euel Sharp, son of Commodore perry Sharp, son of John wiley sharp, son of William Sharp--these are the ones that I have worked on the most. I am fairly new at this and have a long way to go! I LIKE YOUR PICTURE, I had noticed it before, Loneta

PS I hope that we do have relatives in common--it would be great to have someone to exchange information with.

RE: Jester
It is definitely Father on the left and Helen on the Right! So glad I could help find them for you!

RE: Jester
The picture to the right does in fact read Helen
It reads Helen E Jester. Dec. ?? 1853- Dec 15 1937.
I can't read the day of birth clearly. It's either 20 or 30. 'm not sure when i will get back out there. If I do I can try and get another picture of that grave if it will help.

I tryed to find other Sharp's in the Cemetery but records show no one expect John & Wm. They said Wm was in same section but I photograph that whole section and all I found was John and Alice.

Welcome new Member of FAG
I see you are a new member... welcome aboard, you will soon find yourself with passion for it, same as the rest of us. I will see what I can do for you in regards to family at Stephenson Cemetery. My sister and her husband Larry Stephenson devoted many years to it's upkeep. My sister left this world nearly a year ago, and Larry and their 16 year old son are still taking care of it.
