John Lazarus Henson
I found a marker for Lazarus Henson. The birth year and death date are a little off from what you provided. Please let me know if this is your person and if not, I will look again. I noticed your request was made quite some time ago so I hope this helps.

James Flanagan
Hi There Jeanie... okay... a James F. Flanagan (1883-1937) appears in the earlier cemetery book surveyed some time in the 1970's. He is listed as having a headstone at Cumming Second Baptist. I was unable to locate his headstone today. But I'm not sure this is your guy given the middle initial is "F" and not "Z". If there is anything more I can do, please don't hesitate.

RE: Flanagan Family
I'll definitely see what I can find out! When you come, it would be worth your time to visit the Bell Research Center and Historical Society. Both are located inside the Old School House in Cumming - Keep in mind that they're only open from 10-2 on weekdays and 10-5 on Sat. If anyone has done any research on the Flanagan line, they may have a file at the Historical Society. The Bell Research Center is a fantastic place for local research in general.

I didn't find James Z. Flanagan's name in the new Forsyth County Cemeteries book. But I can check some other resources. I'll get back to you!

Flanagan Family
Hi There Jeanie - I thought I would let you know that according to brand new cemetery book by John Salter (local historian), Luna F. Darby (1900-1980), Rev. William H. Flanagan (1908 - 18 Feb 1996), Mable R. Flanagan (1905 - 1968), and Savannah E. Flanagan (1884 - 1958) have all been moved over to Sawnee View Gardens. The cemetery isn't far from my home so I'll try to get photos this weekend.

RE: John Smith in Yuma,
You should ask a request to have this memorial transferred to you are family, especially if you have info to add.
Our family lived in Leavenworth for 15 years before moving to AZ..

RE: John Smith in Yuma,
No I am not related to this individual. After going and looking at the memorial, with unknown dates, I am actually not sure WHY I left the "virtual flower." Sorry.

RE: Marion Green's headstone
You're welcome.

I apologize for the mess it seems to be in; we had to uncover it from a goodly amount of dead, wet grass and leaves.

Best wishes,

RE: Ancil Green
Hello Jeanie,
I only have information from 1820 until his death. I do not beleave John Green and Susanna Blackwell are his parents as some people do because I have yet to connect them in any way. Some of the census have him born in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia so I haven't been able to find anything about his birth. My Tree is public on Ancestry if you would like to see it,it is Green,Coxey,Stiles, White Family Tree.If you would like to talk to me I will give you my phone number just e-mail me at

Just a minor note. His death on the headstone differs from the memorial date - April 28 vs. the 30th. You might want to advise the owner, or just leave as-is.

Siddie Payne married George Martin "Charlie" O'Neal.
Siddie was the d/o; William Andrew Payne & Saphrona "Safroney" Long, both of which are also buried at the Payne Cemetery in Fannin Co., GA.
